I definitely like the sounds that eminate from a Pontiac G8. By the way, this video isn't me. Not sure if there is enough open road anywhere on Long Island where I could go top speed! Also not sure if my 6.0L is really American or Austrailian? I heard at one point that they built the L76 6.0L in Mexico??

At least the engine is being used to capacity. Majority of vehicles never do.

Very carefully. Generally it's set it on top of the steering wheel hub, click record, and drive, without looking at it.

I'd like to mention a few more obscure V-8s.
Maserati, Alfa, Lamborghini and Fiat all offered V-8s of their own design at one time or another.
From Spain, there was the short-lived Pegaso car.
From the UK, Aston-Martin, Rolls-Royce, Daimler and Triumph all offered their own V-8s at some point.
The Brits also bought the alloy engine V-8 from GM, and it was used in all sorts of things, from the MGB (GT V-8), to Morgans, as well as Rover sedans and Landies and Range Rovers.

I had 1990 SHO (the original ones) which had a "lazy" speedo. It was not able to keep up with the car. You stomp on the car and and get it going and let off the gas pedal, the needle used to still keep on going! Lot of fun :-)

That's awesome. As a short term owner of a slightly modified '02 Lightning, that supercharger whine brings back lots of memories and gives me chills.

Supercharged V8s for the win. My Vortech supercharged Lexus LS400 has a lovely whine and it'll scoot when I ask it to.

You're deaf if you think the borderline ricer-sounding 599 sounds better than that GT.

Seriously though, at 6-7 seconds into that video when the GT lets it rip it's wail makes the 599 sound castrated, simply the truth.
