My other car allows up to 15,000 miles or 1 year and I do the 1 year interval and have been doing this for the past 11 years on this car. Again, no issues whatsoever.

Mind providing the make/model of your vehicles?

Sure, my previous car was a 1999.5 model VW Golf TDI. The recommended drain interval was 10,000 miles using VW 505,00 oil in the viscosity of 5W-40. I used Mobil Delvac-1 5W-40 which carried the acceptable API rating for this engine. The car had 221,085 miles on it prior to being wrecked.

My current car is a 2009 VW Jetta TDI. The recommended drain interval for this car is 10,000 miles using VW 507,00 oil in the viscosity of 5W-30. I am using Mobil-1 ESP 5W-30. The car has 21,000 miles currently.

My other car is a 1999 BMW 323i. The recommended drain interval is based on the oil life monitor which starts it's countdown at 15,000 miles. I never deplete the interval in the course of one year so I do annual drain intervals with the recommended BMW LL-98 oil in the viscosity of 5W-40. This car has 68,000 miles currently.

I run an OCI of 10k-15k depending on how soon I can get to it. I have also run 10k on conventional not meaning to mind you with zero ill effect to my car by my visual inspection. The oil was not black-burned looking, however it did look old by my sense of sight.

I routinely run 10k or over using synthetic oils such as PP, M1, Edge. The manual calls for 7500 mile OCI on conventional I use this as mileage for conventional, I also run an oil filter for two consecutive OCI's when running conventional as my manual states. I did not do this my entire life with oil filters, however after considering long, and hard I do trust the Honda engineer's that come up with this maintenance schedule !! This is on a 2002 accord with 2.3 I4 V-TEC.

I do not save money by extending my OCI as I can get 7500 on conventional using the filter for two consecutive OCI's, I hardly ever push a group III synthetic to 15k as I cave in around 12k-13k. I also only use group III synthetics that are available locally to me "off the shelf oils" from my research that is. I have pushed the 15k limit a few times because of the weather, me making myself reach the 15k I planned for on the expensive synthetic oils, or just pure laziness in which case is the reason I choose to "extend" my OCI with synthetic.

My Geo Prizm (7A-FE Corolla engine) has been running on GC for 9,400 miles -as of today-.I am planning to change oil/filter after 10K.

In the '06 taurus I run 10k OCIs with PP. I used to drive 1k/week and decided it made a lot of sense to pay 2x the price to do oil 1/2 as often and not be under once a month. I did three consecutive UOAs that confirmed that I was good to go and haven't looked back. Thas was about 100k ago.

I always intend to go 10k but I end up changing at 8k or 9k. I don't think I will try 10k because my mom who drives the Tribute with the Duratec complained about sluggish performance and sure enough, the GC seemed to have thickened. I just think its the wrong application. I can't get myself to go 10k on the Toyota Camry since it's supposed to be a bit of a sludger. That leaves the other two cars but they're both under warranty so yeah =P

nah.... oem wants us to believe that their brand oil and OCI is the final word. bull and bull. we can save $$ and use less crude if we use the oil as long as possible, which is typically longer then what the oem manual recommends. but nobody will stop you from following what is written in the oem manual, many others will learn different.

I been doing 10-12K for 8 years on wifes caravan using M1 15w50. Did about 1 oil change a year on that.

I have a sump of M1 EP that I am keeping in for 10K, and Ill likely end up doing 15K next time based on what Ive seen from the 2UZ-FE. My commute is 24 hwy miles each way with some traffic in the afternoons.

ETA: I have been doing 10K mile OCIs on my gf Xterra with M1 AFE 0W-30 for maybe 3 times, same commute as mine. Need to get a UOA this time to see how its doing.
