It’s kinda random but I’d love to see the stats for how many batteries AAA sells each year. Because like 10 years ago I feel like 1/4 of all cars had AAA batteries in them, but now I RARELY see them?
On the other hand, out of context, what if they meant they’ll bring you some AAAs and install them in your TV remote so you don’t have to get up. Wouldn’t want to interrupt your show! Like DoorDash haha.

They're in my neighborhood constantly, doing jump starts, battery replacements and flat tire fixes.
Not sure the size but a month or so ago my MIL was quoted $199 for a replacement AGM including roadside changing and disposal. She’s a AAA Premier or Platinum or whatever top tier membership they offer.
I can’t comment on the quality of service or age of the replacement battery since I ended up just leaving work early and getting her a battery at Walmart.

Their price was to me reasonable. The problem I had with AAA is that to get a warranty replacement they have to test it and find excuses to stop you from replacing it on their dime. You don't get that from Walmart or any other place except AAA after the pandemic. If your car sits around they would try to find ways to void your warranty.
The Canadian version of AAA, CAA, has a service where a 3/4 ton pickup with new batteries in the covered box, will go out on “ no start calls”. All they do is use a jump back to get you started, and then do a quick battery check, but of course the battery is still in a low state of charge. They show that to the customer , then attempt to sell the customer a new battery sometimes offering a “special price”. I have never heard that their batteries are any better than what Walmart sells.
So, if you want an AAA battery just use your membership card for a callout. The callout should be free as part of your membership and then a truck carrying batteries will arrive. They will offer you a price on the spot. You can take it or leave it. If you buy it the driver will install the new one and take away the old one. Pretty convenient actually. Just hope they have the right battery with them. Like mentioned in a earlier post you probably can give them your make and model and they can give you a quote and make sure the correct battery is in the truck.

There is no charge for the service. They do essentially sell you a battery at retail price. I've only used it once but have been an AAA member for decades.

A quandary:
I replaced a neighbor's G51 (small) in a Honda Accord, with a full sized battery; a G24 or 34, perhaps.
I forget that at the moment.
Many people perform this upgrade. The battery tray accommodates full sized batteries.
Will AAA take your approval for the larger size or will they be sticklers for the "original size"?
Perhaps they could pre-kill any warranty on an upsized battery?
I've done it at least twice. If memory serves correct, they installed new batteries for something like $150-175.

Also, at least one of them had a 6 year prorate (well, first 3 was free replacement, last 3 was prorate). I believe they have stopped that last three years, and now it is simply 3 years free replacement. And when I called them about getting it replaced with the prorate, they told me that the new battery would not have a prorate at all beyond the original 6 years of the original battery.
If you value your time more than anything, go with them. If not, then Walmart is offering a better deal.

In case you're not being facetious, this isn't about 1-1/2" long, consumer batteries for remote controls, etc.
Since it's for vehicle batteries, I'm pretty sure it only applies to "AAA" members and if you are one and have a dead battery, this would be a great service for their customers, whether it's for your driveway, a store parking lot, or thousands of miles away if it happens while you're traveling.
The value of this AAA service is that if you are stranded somewhere in the middle of the night, or on a trip somewhere unfamiliar, you can get a battery replaced without fuss.
While it may not be the cheapest, it is still at a reasonable cost.

I'd like to see the sides of that van. The font on the back doors doesn't look like that used by AAA, and there's no visible AAA symbol...although in fairness it could be out of the camera's view.

They are not going to get the call out unless they are part of the network. Yes-before cell phones "pirate" tow truck operators used to listen for radio calls after traffic accidents-show up and say they "take the card" but in reality they are not authorized. Then you would have to seek reimbursement from AAA for tow and storage fees-which were often beyond what was allowed. But AAA doesn't take lightly using their copyrighted logo without being authorized.
You can have a business named AAA-and not be infringing on their trademark. Back in the day businesses used to try to do this to be the first listed in the phone books.
That's what I said. AAA plumbing or AAA what ever does not infringe on the trademark. If they had " the logo" that's another issue.

It would be funnier if the van pulls up and it turns out all he really has is actual AAA batteries. No AAs, no 9-volts, etc.
