on my older cars and trucks i do once a year oil changes using purolator or motorcraft filters and have no issues,, Who here does once a year oil changes.

I used to do dino up to 5,000 miles or 6 months.

The Ranger and Cobalt are both coming up on their annual changes. Both have very little use during the year.

The Dakota and Sonata get 3-4 changes a year since they see more action.

My E430 had been doing 12-13k/12mo OCI with syn only since 2000. My LS400 has 2 OCI schedule: 6-7k/6mo with dino and 12-14k/12mo with syn, with 1 oil filter per year with either OCI. My S2000 had been 12 month OCI for 5-6 years now.

My car is over 2 years on the same oil, it's over on the mileage and am considering changing the oil....only thinking about it, I might push it a bit more. I changed the Mercedes at 18 months, and my bike about the same.

Oh, and I use thick oil too - maybe I shouldn't even be on BITOG.

I still haven't fully committed to 24 months between oil changes on my nice-weather-only car. It's service interval light suggests 15K-18K miles, but it has never come close before I change the oil at 12-18 months.

The car with almost 325K miles goes only the internally computed service interval, about 7500 miles, between changes. I would consider extending that if I switched to (expensive) BMW-LL rated oil, but it's cheaper to run the recommended interval with lower cost oil.

I do. In fact. My 2003 dually has gone two years and less then 6,000 miles on Amsoil 15w40 in the past.

My Dakota gets an OC about every Nov 1st. I don't drive it much so I'd say it's getting less than 10K/yr. The Honda's are both under warranty so I meet (Civic) or exceed (Goldwing) the OM recommendations on those.

My pickup only sees about 2500 miles/year. I've changed it twice since I purchased it 2-1/2 years ago, and don't plan to change the oil again until spring of 2013.

And I only use whatever conventional oil is on sale.

I do.

I use AMSOIL Signature Series in my truck < 15,000 per year; oil and filter changed once per year.

I have an old truck that I use on the farm. Conventional oil is used in this vehicle, it's driven < 2000 miles per year. I change the oil and filter every other year per the advice of BITOG.

My bus gets an oil change once a year...everything else gets changed based on mileage.

Been doing annual for many many years now. Of course, none of my vehicles go over 10,000 now but een in the past when they did it was annual.

The Fit is almost to that point. The maintenance minder will let it go about 11-12k miles, and oil analysis has shown that syn oil for that interval is fine.

If the car does not see a lot of miles in that time, and gets hot when it IS driven, why not?

My 2002 F-150 only goes between 4,500-5,500 miles per year. I use Motorcraft 5W-20 with the FL-820S oil filter. I also use FP60 for the fuel and LC20 in the oil. I change one a year in the late fall. Looking in my oil fill at my valve train shows it looking like new. The engine and manual transmission will outlast the body and frame here in salt encrusted northern NJ.

On my 2004 Monte Carlo SS, 1998 chevy 1500 4x4, my 1998 chevy 3500 4x4, and 1970 Monte Carlo, I do one year oil changes due to these vehicles don't get driven very much. We also do the one year thing on my fiance's 2007 Mustang GT since she only puts about 2,000 miles a year on it.

All of my cars use Pennzoil and the Mustang uses Motorcraft.
