Who makes which battery?

Wow. Never heard of such a thing on a battery. What turds. I've had batteries die before the end the warranty and just went back to the store with my receipt and the core, grabbed a new one, paid any difference between the price and walked out 5 min later. That difference might be $10-15 but not like what Costco is trying to pull. Screw that.

In fact, this is why you cannot go wrong with the Everstart Platinum for $180. Save your receipt, party like a rock star and if it wont put out anymore, turn it back in before it turns 4 years old.
I think a lot of places have prorated warranties on batteries. I don't have a problem with it.

Yes, since the change in late 2022, I have only purchased at Walmart now. The four year warranty is reassuring on their AGMs, but hopefully not needed. In the case of West Coast WalMarts, the AGMs they sell are identically sourced from Clarios as the Costco/Interstate AGMs. Same countries of origin (Korea, Mexico, China, Germany, or USA)

The last couple batteries I bought at Costco are probably going to outlive their warranties though. One expires end of February, the other in June.

Yes, same exact battery. Could be made at any of their plants. Interstates are sold at lots of places outside of Costco.

I've maintained this spreadsheet for Group 48/H6/L3 and 94r/H7/L4 for a few years now, mainly for GM trucks and SUV's but there are tons of vehicles that use both. If you can use it, great.

Prices and suppliers change all the time, so keep that in mind. Your "Acdelco" battery might be straight up Clarios or Delkor but don't be fooled cause Clarios owns Delkor as well as a half dozen other brands. If you took any random vehicle off the street and traced its batt back to where it was made, chances are it's a Clarios-run plant.

If you see anything with Duracell on it, that's East-Penn since Proctor&Gamble signed a contract with them. These are sold at Sam's and Batteries Plus.

As far as Amazon goes, they're only going to sell AGM's due to their shipping policy. More and more come out of China but there are still a few Clairos, EP, Enersys, etc on there (usually way more $$$ at this point).

Nice spreadsheet, my Camel H7 AGM says made in Malaysia. I don't know its specs, but room temperature testing says it has about 1000 cranking amps.

Looked it up, 800 CCA and 140 reserve, similar numbers to the Deka on your list.

When Odyssey was owned by Northstar, they were making the Diehard battery. Since Northstar was bought by Enersys, they no longer make it. Enersys still makes the Odyssey right here in the USA!

Enersys makes Northstar, Odyssey and X2 (batteries plus) AGM’s as far as I’ve been able to find. X2 and Odyssey are my go to batteries personally. I somewhat lean towards X2, but that just because I’ve had more of them. Can’t go wrong with either though.
