I just received my John Deere home maintenance kit and it came with a Briggs plug. Wondering if someone here could decode it possible to see if it’s a Champion or another company

could be autolite too. Either way they are fine in lawn mowers
Most likely Champion, but NGK and Denso are better

Not sure about currently...but a decade or so ago, I was told Champion. But I use NGK on pretty much everything. I am sure the Champion is totally fine.
Definitely not Champion as the center electrodes are straight (centered). No one can make a crooked plug quite like Champion.

I would through that B&S plug away.
The only plug I ever had a problem with in OPE was a Briggs labeled plug bought from walmart. 2 mows and then a no start?

Never had a problem with Champion. Used them in all my old Mopar's (and my B3500 van) and briggs.
The single platinum (GP) is significantly cheaper than the single iridium (IX) and no significant performance difference. The single iridium tip should last longer as long as it's not used in a waste spark (reverse polarity) setup but durability is almost never an issue with air-cooled, carbureted engines.

If it's a modern high mileage application I would recommend the dual tip plugs (laser platinum / iridium, ruthenium) but I'm not convinced the cost is worth it in most applications.
And, if you do use Champion plugs, please inspect the tips for concentricity and return all the wobbly ones.
As far as I am aware this only applies to Champion because they are special.

It used to be Champion, but these days many of the Briggs and Stratton branded plugs look suspiciously like the Chinese Torch spark plugs. I only use Champion/NGK or the Honda branded plugs.
The plugs on my OPE that have B&S engines, the 2005 Power Washer, 2010 Generator and a 2020 Power Washer all came with the plugs saying Briggs & Stratton and Champion on the same plug. I don't know about the "Briggs & Stratton" replacement plugs sold online and in the big box stores. While the plug in the generator looked fine it was always a bear to pull start it with the 342cc engine and the generator head. It was making this 72 y/o struggle more than I liked. I changed it to a NGK Iridium plug and now it starts on the first or second pull .
