Who has fought a manufacture? Wisdom please. I have got conflicting information.

Just remember as soon as a lawyer is mentioned everything will stop and you will eventually deal with their lawyers.

Is there something you want? a buyback? etc?
I would like to get Ford to give me the money to have a high quality shop fully rebuild my transmission with properly designed and manufactured parts.
OR
Remove the known multiple faults transmission and install a properly fully built transmission.
SIU has a 4 out of 8 series documenting most of the known faults of 10R/L80
These are a few of the educational videos about the multiple problems with the Ford and Chevy trans.:

i have a cousin that had an issue from a company that just blew her off . good thing i have another cousin thats an attorney and she wrote a letter on her letterhead and after they recieved it all of a sudden they wanted to resolve the issue .

a huge percentage of the folks that threaten to sue never go through with it . its jsut a bluff. its the ones that hire one that show they are really serious.

This time it has been at a dealer for 67 days and counting.
In Va. 2022 STOCK FORD MACH 1 Mustang. Started having 10R80 transmission problems at 2000 miles now the car is at 9000 miles.
How long can the dealer keep my car without fixing it, or fixing it?
How long before the manufacturer paid enough money for a new engine or transmission? I am thinking I need to pay Suncoast or some high quality shop to build my dung pile 10R80, or buy a quality fully built rock solid transmission from an independent shop or transmission specialist.
I talked to most of the trans. Specialists around here and they just remove and replace. The biggest in my area said the last 3 new 10R80 they got from Ford 1 lasted a month and the other 2 lasted 2 months.
Who has tried the better Business Bureau?
Who has tried their State Attorney General?
Who took it to court?
Other options?
Your results?
Thank you.
I married a litigation lawyer. I have a name tag from law school reunion I attended with my wife. I leave it in the cup holder so it's easily visible when bringing our vehicles some place for service.

I've forced a buyback under a lemon law (67 days would qualify where mine happened.) It was a long time ago, but promise they will fight you every step of the way, even after they agree to buy it back.

The BBB was a help back then.

You really haven't given us a lot of detail, are we talking new car or used car and is it under factory warranty or some other warranty?

My mother had a 1992 (?) Mercury Sable with 3.8L engine. She purchased an extended warranty.

The car overheated and she brought it back to the dealer. They replaced the water pump. The extended warranty expired several months later.

The car overheated again and the engine was damaged. We found out Ford had a “Secret Warranty” and was replacing engines on cars ‘91 and older. They said the car was not eligible and quoted $7,000 for a new engine.

We called the DPRM’s AG office at 11am and were directed to an office that handled car disputes.

At 1pm, I received a call from the owner of the dealership. I explained the grounds for the dispute: the dealer had misdiagnosed the initial failure, and it was clearly a well-known manufacturing fault* and they should cover this car the same as previous years.

The dealer owner stated they would “go to bat for you” with Ford. By that afternoon, MoFoCo had agreed to a new engine, We paid only fluids and shop supplies.

* Apparently Ford reversed the flow of coolant in some applications, which resulted in localized overheating and failure.

Well...they are not going to do either thing. They will replace will a factory rebuilt transmission with OEM parts. Ford giving you "hard money" to have your transmission built somewhere else is a "pipedream", nor is the factory going to build one "just for you".

As a general rule manufacturers do not want techs in a transmission, unless it's changed recently a ford reman will have the latest updates and parts.

WHY has the dealer not fixed it in 67 days?

I test drove with 550 miles bought with 608 that evening. Bought from a FORD dealer. Still under bumper-to-bumper and drivetrain warranties.

I have no idea. The dealer mostly refuses to communicate with me.
After leaving multiple messages on the service writer’s phone and the Service Manager‘s phone and I think the manager of those two they refused to call me back. I finally had to drive down there and attempt to speak to them face-to-face. They never apologize for not returning my calls while the car had already been there for a month, nothing. No loaner car!
For some reason when I talk to the manager or supervisor of the transmission department, there, the guy that everyone talked about being the guy for some reason he told me that they would not put any of the updated/upgraded parts in the transmission and that they would use the known faulty parts, but new versions of them. It makes no sense to me.
The only thing I can think of is that they just wanna cheap out and do as little as possible. They hope that I will be sick and tired and not have the time and ability to come back and fight them over when the transmission fails again.
So my BEAUTIFUL car just continues to sit outside in the hail, the rain in the snow, etc.

I just lemon lawed a Nissan Frontier and I'm at Arbitration for a 2025 1500 Ram.

You can look up the lemon law in your state which should cover loss of use but you definitely qualify for the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which is a federal law. It sounds to me Ford is in Breach of warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act states reptmust be made in a reasonable amount of time otherwise they need to replace or buy it back. You can also choose to ask for a payment for aggravation and loss of use and keep it if you really like it. You can look up in the Ford manual their process for a warranty dispute. I would get started right away.

My 2025 1500 Ram has been waiting on a water pump for 36 days. I can't imagine waiting your amount of time. I would loose my mind.

I lost more money trading in my 2020 F150 with a bad 10 speed than what your " built" transmission will cost. The transmissions are a known issue- I didn't dig enough before I bought that 2020 F150. You need to let the dealer put in a factory transmission and most importantly buy an extended warranty. Or else your grief will continue.
I out of this thread.

Long post...
To start with look at the BBB site. Even the worst company with many many complaints have good ratings if they respond to each complaint. That doesent mean correct the situation or concern. Look closely and you will see what im talking about. In my opinion ignor them mostly. Google reviews gets thier attention! Everyone uses google and is able see in real time whats happening unedited. It worked for me a few months ago when an online retailer denid a waranty claim. Write a review but just state the facts Leave the emotion out disappointments in.

Picket the dealer! Yes, it worked for my neighbor. 10 minuites, and after a few asked him to leave they sent down the one in the window looking out. You know the guy who hardly ever leaves the office the boss? They gave him what he wanted. Be prepared to be reasonable and have a plan. Finally a good attorney if the lemon law doesent apply (which it looks like it has expired). Class action? If you have issues like this you can be certain many others do as well.

I have delt with ford on a 2010 F150 bought new. Chattering and shuttering after a hot stop and go heat soak on a 6R80. 5 times to the dealer. They called it normal. I gave up when they stopped responding to my emails and the warantee was FORD NO MORE!. Who won? no one... with 145000 miles it does the same thing no worse or better. Subaru has had issues They worked with me and discounted some work and offered a 2000 new car coupon with a new vehicle purchase later on. A transmission that fails that quick probably has other issues other than the transmission there has to be a solution.

When I was having AC issues on my Forester I consulted a few lemon law attorneys and unfortunately I didn't have a case.
7 warranty trips to the dealer in 3 years ... Because the same component didn't fail enough times, I didn't have a case.
Wow. I have a 2008 subaru and a 2017 subaru outback. Ive never had a ac issue.

Don’t know where you live but most state Attorney General offices deal with these problems all the time.

In most states this vehicle would be returnable under their Lemon Laws.

But without knowing what state, no one is going to be able to offer valid advice.
