Who forgot Mother's Day card for wife or Mother?

My mom has a witty sense of humor. I always get her a card with humor. I got her a card that said "Even There Best Moms Yell S Sometimes". It's a Hallmark card if that matters.

I did haha. It’s ok mom is getting grilled steak and shrimp today as she requested and this time I’m the one paying for it since it’s her day lol.

If I purchased a mother's day card for my wife, she would be angry that I wasted money on something that will be thrown away very soon. I will be baking her an honest-to-goodness cheesecake later today. I didn't forget about her.

Anna Jarvis came up with the idea for Mother's Day. When she realized how commercialized it had become she spent the rest of her regretting it and tried to bring it back to a day where one just says thanks for all the things your mother has done for you.

I think even a simple Mother's Day card at the store was almost $5.

My wife doesn't mind a card, it's the flowers that she says are a rip off on Mother's Day, "so don't buy me flowers" she says. My son and I didn't do cards this year, but my daughter made one for her. We each got her a small gift, plus a takeaway lunch and a cake to celebrate her.

My mother is now the full time caregiver to my 81 year old ailing father. Friday afternoon, my wife made dinner and we brought it over, I also grilled for them when we arrived. We ate dinner together, plus my wife bought flowers for my mom.

Yesterday we celebrated with the outlaws. We went over for lunch and I helped my FIL grill, he has two different grills going when we arrived, don't ask me why. We also brought my MIL and SIL flowers.

My wife is not my mother. Geeze.

I'm an easy guy, wife can be boss of most things. But if she expects extra from me today and nothing from our daughters, that's just plain weird.

I mean she can take it easy today, not cook, etc. I doan care.

My mother is sadly checked out, but deserves a card. I can't call her anymore. Sucks. I will go see her again after the surgery.

Mine had garlic shrimp made for her. I wish I picked up some more garlic last week. There was about 2/3 of a bulb available for use, but I would have preferred a whole bulb. It really was more of "shrimp with a hint of garlic" vs "garlic shrimp".

At least her card finally arrived. I mailed it on the 4th at a post office in the west suburbs that claimed first pickup was 1PM on Monday. The card arrived Saturday so it took 6 days to go about 60 miles.

Better be bringing more than a card, bro!

My wife made a nice pacific Island curry and coconut curry and rice dinner, and we made a day trip down to Hanover, MA. To visit her Mom. (side note: Just missed getting squished on the interstate by being (luckily) one lane to the right of BANG! CRASH! BANG! (!)

I have a wonderful mother in law - so no jokes there.

ps: rant: why do American Greeting or Halmark cards cost more than a good oil filter?! They are not even synthetic media!

I just had a thought that your birthday and Mother's day should be a combined day of celebration!
We all know Dad's overall participation was minimal or ... accidental !
