Who else is doing an oil change this weekend?

I did one yesterday morning after I washed and vacuumed out all the cars. I could smell oil on my skin all afternoon, even after I washed it off a couple of times with Dawn dish soap. I don't mind the smell, kinda like it.

I have to drop off my used oil at work Tuesday...there's a waste oil tank I have access to.

Almost as good as transmission fluid LOL. I dropped off 15 gallons of used oil at the county waste site yesterday.

Pardon my ignorance but how is changing your motor oil "much more American"?

My first post.....

And just did the first oil change on my 2014 Subaru Outback yesterday, so double fitting for this thread. (Bought it used, 7500 miles ago.)

Used Mobil1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20, 5qt jug was just over $22 and the 1qt was just over $7 at Wal-Mart (Subaru 2.5 engine calls for 5.3 quarts); with the OEM filter and crush washer it came out to a total of $42.

I wanted the standard Mobil1, but they did not have it in stock, so I went with the AFE, same price as the standard.

Cannot wait to get my first UOA after the Mobil1 AFE runs for 7500 miles!!!

A spray bottle of Simple Green takes the oil and smell right off.

Doing oil changes on my low use Camaro (2,000 miles in the past two years) and an annual oil change on my father's Saturn SL2 that gets a fresh quart replacement every month due to leaks.

I did!

A drain/refill of Shell 0W40 in the Colt, and fixing some diesel leaks/air intakes on my old Fiat. Not a funny job...never thought the diesel return line could leak sooooo much!

Did a ATF drain and fill as well as an oil change on the Civic yesterday. I hope our American friends had a great day!

I'm not doing anything on my cars but will finally help my buddy with an oil change on his oil burner Civic. Got the VML and Fram TG ready to go!

Me too.
I have done an oil/filter, ATF/filter, diff fluid, air filter, and coolant flush on my daughters car(92).
Hopefully it is done for a while!

Don't forget the brake fluid!

Did the 150 hour oil/ filter service on the wifes Onan 8000 sunday.

Ran into this gem of a drain bolt courtesy of the shop that did the 1000 hour service.

Highly unimpressed. " You must have used the wrong sized tool" - please.

My tools worked great the last 21 times I changed the oil with absolutely no problem - because some new guy didn't Conan on the drain bolt with a 3 ft pipe.

I did my wife's car, and inadvertently discovered it was the longest OCI I've ever done at over 10,000 miles on M1 AFE 0w-20.

Sounds like it would make for a good UOA.
