VAT is included. It's 17% in the UK unless it has change recently. Still doesn't explain the price difference.

It's a Diewoe

GM has decided to make Chevrolet one of their major worldwide brand names. The traditional Chevrolet products won't cut it in the world market so they are sticking the bowtie badges on other cars. I think that in the majority of non-North American markets the majority of Chevrolet badged cars aren't US designed cars.

Must be the angle of the photo, but at first glance (and because of the "intakes" on fender) I assumed it was a rebadged Vue/Opel.

Is it smaller than the picture looks?

Captiva lol.. official ride of hostage takers.

Can't be worse than the original name for the EV-1 though, the "Impact" - *smash* "...that wasnt your average impact, that was a Chevy Impact!"

Here, Chevrolet's brand recognition was very positive. Due to the taxation any high displacement cars resale value initially dips sharply but older than 20 years or high displacement any GM have higher resale value than MB. After their re-introducing with curiosity rising type tv ad campaign, what come out in the end was depressing. Italian designed, Korea production no crash test 2nd class 'merican brand, with lots of typos on the brochure.

In this world of information overload, the worldwide reliability, repeatibility gets the credit. New brands are challenging to establish their brand values, the old ones striving for long-term protection. Chevrolet ,for some reason, did the oppposite. Classifieds were full with the months-old "Chevrolet"s. I think it was a sour experiece for many. Actually it's was a low end Opel, or a Daewoo sold via Opel dealers treating the Chevrolet customers as second class citizens. Now when one says Chevrolet, automatical question is "which?"

I've ridden in a Kalos with a 1.4. It was the best sounding 1.4 I've ever heard. I woulnt' believe a 1.4 could have an american charactere. Silent up to 80kph, and a subdued purr afterwards while accelerating. It felt sound, insulation was fine for the price. But a hurry-up cheap version of an Italian stytling, and a name resembling with "sawlog" ruins it. Apeears as sole marketing project (or a design preocess collision that went really nice for a while)
