Which year cutoff for Quincy Air Compressors?

If memory serves me right, Quincy started manufacturing in China in 2004. I want to ask the community if there are specific years, or year ranges, to look at when buying these air compressors secondhand. I’m also considering Champion and Saylor-Beall as well for either a 60 or 80 gallon compressor. Thanks everyone.

AFAIK the 80 gal Quincy is still made in the USA I bought mine in 08 USA. Great compressor as are the Champion and SB, IMO get the one for the best price on the door.

Yes I'd go no lower than a 7.5hp on a 80gallon tank.

What is it's intended purpose if answer is sandblasting I'd never buy anything smaller than a true 7.5 hp as i have posted 10hp would be nice. People never understand as soon as you get into some serious blasting tank really won't matter you will be running of the pump in no time.

It’s to run my Hunter tire machine and I also do auto painting (hobbyist) with LVLP spray guns.

Quincy QT-5 would likely be plenty. It's reasonably quiet, also.

Do you want to sandblast i always see people make that mistake all the time it's a few bucks more but worth every penny.

I do run a 7.5 hp and no regrets as A DIY painting amd blasting in refuse to use a wire brush lol
I always have a saying to people. No one ever said I have to much dang air but you sure will hear people complain about not enough air. I know you'll hear people say get a bigger tank it won't work you will be on the pump in seconds when blasting.

I blast all the time with my old Devilbliss 80 gallon. It claims 6.5 hp, but I'm certain it's actually less.

Quincy QT-5 would likely be plenty. It's reasonably quiet, also.

With one user or one tool at a time its fine with 15 cmf the 7 HP is 22 cmf.

Just a small 21 gallon oilless McGraw from HF. It does well but I get tired of it running out of breath because of its size.

If that's the case a 60gallon 5hp would be a vast improvement and probably be enough.

What about used? Big compressors don't exactly sell very well. I have a 1978 Kellogg American 332 pump & 5HP motor on a 80 gallon tank. 16.5 CFM @ 530 RPM @ 150 PSI
