TallPaul,

In KC area Advance Auto Parts sells it and the price is about $5.50 . Also Tall Paul do you know if the regular Full Syn that is on special at AAP is available in 5w-20?

TIA

Autozone here in Oregon sells it for $3.99 a quart. I find it odd at that price. The other synthetics are around $5.99 a quart.

$3.99 a quart! Stock up!

Pretty sure Synpower comes in 5w20. If AA doesn't have in stock, order and pay for it under the BOGO deal and pick it up later. (Same for those who want 5w40).

AAP does not sell it in the stores that I've been in in Kansas City. They did when it came out, but now they seem to only carry the blend.

Call the store in Liberty,MO or on Shawnee Mission Pkwy in Shawnee(75th & Neimann). I have seen it in both stores within the last year. I purchased 18 quarts at the Shawnee store last August during the Valvoline FAR promo.

TallPaul,

At Autozones in the Cincy area, the SM version is selling for about $5.70, while the SL version I just purchased was priced at $3.99 per quart.

I'd like to get a list of all stores selling Maxlife Synthetic and approximately what the price is at each store.

TallPaul, I got two 5qt jugs at China Mart for $20 a jug. They had some qt bottles but as I was looking them over I found that there were of older stock. It did not meet all the long-life specs that the new 5qt jugs did. The new jugs are white labelled with red lettering and meet all the long-life specs on the planet(I think). The qt. bottles were red labelled and said MAXLIFE FULL SYNTHETIC on the front. Look at the specs on the back and you will see the difference.
AZ had the qt. bottles for $3.99 but were sold out. The new labelled stuff seems to be a great oil but the older red-labelled qts. did not meet the same specs. Needless to say, I put the qt. bottles back on the shelf and got two new big jugs.
TallPaul, do you know of a VOA that has been done on this stuff? This oil could be one of the quietest performers on the market. I know it isn't scientific but Schaeffer 7000 oil has a very unique smell to it. Hard to describe but if you have ever smelled it you know what I mean. I got a jug of the new jugs of MAXLIFE home and it smelled exactly the same which is unusual. Either they are using very similar additives in both or the same lady farted in both jugs before they were sealed up.

Anyway, I think this MAXLIFE FULL SYNTHETIC may just be what some folks have been looking for. I am going to do a run of it in one of my rides and send a sample out. This stuff has me curious and if anyone has knowledge of UOAs&VOAs of the stuff(not the red-labelled qts) please direct me to them. Thanks in advance.

I have three different labels of red Maxlife Synthetic bottles. Regarding ACEA A3 and other specs, the 2004 packaged bottles say "Recommended for engines specifying...," but the 2005 and 2006 labels both way that it meets the spec. But that may be because Valvoline had not bothered to get the testing before, yet it may be just as good. Anyway, I'll take it if it is a good price. May check out Walmart, but have never seen the synthetic in big jugs there.

They are new. The jugs are silver with a red cap and red letters on the front. The China Mart closest to me has the big jugs but the store in the next town(20mi) didn't even have a space for them. I'm thinking about going back and clearing the remaining jugs off the shelf. That way, they won't be in anyone's way.

The new jugs come out to about $4qt. Not a bad price considering the specs this oil meets.

I'd love to get some of those jugs. May re-visit my local Autozone too.

Never had the pleasure of sniffing Schaeffer's Oil, but the VOA I saw in another thread looked like it was very similar to Maxlife and with higher zinc. Will have to investigate Schaeffers further.
