Local town has:

Hucks Now with Sure gasoline(busy)
Casey's General Store
Marathon(busy but one penny higher than Huck's)
CountryMark- not busy,no attendants-Prices slow to drop
Citgo

CountryMark is the only top tier station.

It comes from the same place, but the top tier gas will have a bit more detergent in it. I know, because I visited a refinery and had that described and shown to me--They had a special rack and the Chevron trucks would stop and get a few gallons of the detergent on their way in or out. I forget which. The weird thing was the independent served from the refinery was no cheaper than the Chevron from the same refinery.

I guess I would be willing to pay up to a nickel more for the high-detergent gas because I have a newer car with a complicated engine. The extra cost is nowhere near that, though. Almost nil, I expect.

Id consider the top tier fuel, but be able to dose on my own in case their price is out of line.

Buy from one with high volume and one that has good pumps. Sometimes they let the hoses get too [censored] and don't replace them when required. It says replace by a certain date on the pump.

Exxon and Mobil. 9 times out of 10 they have the same price as our walmart across the street.

I typically try and get either Exxon and Mobil or Shell. I'm not the type who will drive 15 miles across town to save $0.02 a gallon.

I will go out of my way to avoid BP tho.

Depends on what car. If your engine is direct injection I'd buy from Top Tier stations. If regular port injection buy the cheapest.

^^^Likewise. We buy 4 figures a month and almost always use the largest "cheapo" station in our town.

I cannot remember when we've had a fuel related problem. It just doesn't happen...

I generally go for whichever of the inexpensive stations gets the most traffic. And I'll sometimes prefer one where I notice more people bringing nicer cars and filling up with 93, as the Jeep needs the higher octane stuff (and gas slowly loses octane as it gets stale).
