doing an oil change and i just need to know what would be the best choice for an oil filter. genuine toyota, k & n gold series, or mobil1? these are the only ones available in my area besides the fram and penzoil ones. which one would be best?

My first choice of your group is Mobil 1, hands down!

K & N if you like more flow/less filtration
Mobil-1 if you like more filtration/less flow

Don't know anything about Toyota filtering or their vehicles. I only buy American-built vehicles whose ownership headquarters itself on our USA soil & actually only buy USA-made AC Delco filters now too. Hopefully, Champion won't ruin these with their new Ecore filter posturing that's taking place with other Champion-assisted oil filter brands.

I've been wondering which one is really a "domestic"
1)a Chrysler built in Michigan by Americans where the profit goes back to corporate hdqts. in Germany. 2) a GM built by Canadians in Ontario where the profits go back to corp. hdqts. in America. 3) a Toyota built by Americans in Kentucky where the profits go back to corp. headqtrs. in Japan.
Should the average American be more concerned about American workers being employed or American Corporate profits? I really don't know.

Ugly 3, I remember when you were on the other side of the fence.

For the best filtering and construction, the Pure One gets my vote. I'd take an AC any day over the M1, it's too overpriced.

For flow, the Purolator Premium plus is one of the best, better then K&N too.

Allow me to feed info to this 'Made in America' issue.

Do you think your average American manufacturer buys 'Made in America'? I've been in many auto manufacturing plants where the very expensive machinery used to mass produce these parts was bought overseas. I found it very hypocritical when Lee Iaccoca told all of us to 'buy American', then I saw that he didn't practise what he preached.

In addition, I'm sure I don't have to rehash the fact that many parts on our "American" cars are made overseas. Where does that profit go?

I trust the Toyota filters for the value. I am currently running a motorcraft filter on my Toyota though.
