ok, at my normal store, in the auto aisle, there are 2 different Valvoline tc-w3 oils.(there is also an much more expensive quicksilver brand) here are the bottles in question:

aside from 10 cents a qt, is there a difference between the 2 as far as a 1oz to 5Gal(1:640) gas UCL use is concerned?

Hmm, identical specs in the Product data sheet so......use some advanced logic:

Buy the bottles with the picture of a boat on the front!

but...then i'd have to spend an extra dime! Which would raise my per gallon of gas cost(640:1 gas:oil)from 2.74 cents to 2.80 cents! 6/100 of a cent! OUTRAGEOUS!

I bought a bunch of this at a Kangaroo store(similar to a 7-11) that was clearing out its oil. I bought it for 1.00 a qt and bought all they had. It seems like decent oil. Nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about. Just average. I didn't like the color, its a ugly dark green. I like the bright blue or red dye.

One is labled a multipurpose oil and one is not. Buy the one that is not mulitpurpose with the boat picture. you may find that the recomended dose level is different even thought the spec sheets are close.

Valvoline must think that IF you can afford a boat, then you can afford an extra 10 cents for the quart of 2-cycle oil.

That looks like the Valvoline 2-cycle at Meijer. The main difference I noticed at the store near me is one bottle style is old and dusty, the other is fresher.

If the price works for you, buy one of each and tell us which smells better.

it is indeed a Meijer store.
bought the 'multi-purpose" a while back, still have like 20 OZ left to use. it smells like Diesel, has the coloration of motor oil + original "green death" Nyquil, but the Neon did run/idle smoother and seemed to get a tiny(eensy-weensy) mpg bump @ 1oz to 5 gal gas.
I just put gas in the Sable for the first time, and dosed it with 4 oz(20 gal tank) it can't hurt @ that concentration, and I've got to do something with the 20oz of TCW3.

still need a cleaner/more fool proof method of measuring/dispensing... anyone got an empty Stabil(big bottle, measures at least an oz) they wanna part with?

at first i bought a "marinade/flavor injector" basically a large syringe that measures up to 1.5oz. then the trouble was getting the "needle" end down into the fliud level of the qt bottle, and transferring to the tank w/o making a mess.(drips from the needle end, and closing the qt bottle at the same time so it doesn't spill all over the trunk, etc)
now i have a small flip top bottle from the trial/travel size area in HBC, that has oz/ml gradients up to 4 oz.
I like the syringe for the more precise dosage, most of the time my weekly "fillup" is only a 5 gallon top off so i don't normally need more than an oz. plus, I've gotten some mighty strange looks at the pump messing with a syringe.

I'd Looked at those mix mizer types, but their gradients are labeled in typical 2 stroke ratios not in oz or ml.

It may be difficult to see in the picture, but mine has ounce markings:

Double chamber big bottle of empty Red Stabil would be perfect but I am not going to spend $15 for the red Stabil!

my thoughts exactly.

Some industrial/janitorial supply house probably sells these bottles. I wish I knew Spanish, so I could ask some cleaning guys for help :-)
