Which engine oil for Fiesta ST

Go a whole year? I thought the norm was 6 months? I dont mind changing it. It makes me feel good. Lol.
The 6 month recommendation is only there to account for drivers who are daily driving the car and doing short trips, which is much harder on the oil. If your mileage is low because you seldom drive the car, and not because you do short trips, the oil will be just fine for a year or longer. I'd personally go 3k miles/18 months with that kind of use.

Makes sense. Last time I drove the car, was back in Sept, and that was just to heat up the oil to change it, and then back in the garage it went.

Based on how you've said the car gets used, that engine will never ever detect any difference whatsoever in what you use.

Pick a brand you like, even if it's just the colour of the jug that tickles your fancy and run that.

No need to overthink a case like this one.

Even a stout conventional would probably suit OP's needs.

Actually, I've been considering going with Castrol GTX 5w30 for my 6 month OCI's.
The vehicle literally gets driven twice a week to the grocery store and put back into the garage.
No highway trips/track days/freezing temp use. Annual mileage is about 2k miles
Vehicle is a DI Honda 1.5 with no turbo. Anyone see a problem running the 5w30 GTX?
Owners manual suggests 0w20 (a full syn) and annual OCI's.

Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone. Just looking for a good oil for a 2017 Ford Fiesta ST. It's a TGDi, 29k mi and out of warranty. No specialty Oils that I would have to order please.
I've been doing some reading, and these are the 3 choices that I was thinking (and that are at my local Walmart). As of now I've been using Castrol EDGE Extended Performance 5w30 and sometimes the Motorcraft synthetic 5w30. The car does sit a lot in a garage and is only really driven 1 or twice every few months. I never go longer than 3k miles ir 6 months on an oil change Thanks!!

-Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 or 5w30
-Castrol EDGE Euro K 5w30
-stay with Motorcraft 5w30 Full synthetic
I would stick with a 0W-30 instead of a 5W-30. Generally, you get more PAO in the 0W versions of the same oil than in the 5W. You will notice this in section 3 of the SDS of the oils. I use something a little different, but on these choices, I would use Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30.

I’m not against it but what’s the point when Supertech syn is the same price or less?

In Canada the GTX can be full syn, a blend, or conventional depending on weight and variant. The full synthetic 5w30 goes on sale for really cheap periodically. I think I've seen it as low as $30 per jug.

If going Castrol, go Edge 0W30 Euro.

My three vehicles don't get driven much and I use Mobil 1. The 4Runner and Ranger are on their second year and the F150 is on it's third year Oil Change Interval.

What's your thinking on this?
I had a 2005 Ford F150 4x4 Lariat crew cab that had extensive oil change records since it was brand new. I bought it with 185,000 miles and sold it at 225,000. That engine had the Motor Craft 0-20 synthetic blend since it was brand new. That truck ran great and didn't use any oil at all. That,s why I thought since you had used the Ford oil (different weight) it would continue to work well for you. I believe if you change it on a regular basis the engine will last longer than the vehicle. The previous owner put lots of miles on that Ford and he still changed it at around 3,000 miles. He must have had a lot of money because they were all dealer oil changes. The truck actually looked like it had very low miles on it because it was immaculate.

What motor did you have in the F150?
This Fiesta has that strung out 1.6l tgdi
