What's everyone's opinion on using Kendall GT1 Max 5w30 in a 2017 Ford Fiesta ST ecoboost with less than 30k miles? I switched my Crown Victoria over to Kendall GT1 max 10w30 and I'm liking it quite a bit. Thought I would try the 5w30 in my Fiesta. Right now it has Castrol Edge EP 5w30 in it. I tried Mobil 1 ESP which had a nice high hths, but it didn't carry any of the Ford requirements/specs like the Kendall and Castrol have. Or is that something I should even be worry about?
Thanks!!

Just about any API SP will meet the Ford requirements. With how tightly controlled the specs and approvals are these days, the only way you’d ever tell a difference is if one oil also meets some of the Euro approvals like MB or Porsche that the other one doesn’t. Even then, on a sample size of one you’re never going to be able to obtain any data with similar oils to prove one is statistically better than the other.

Buy what meets your engine’s specs and makes you happy.

Kendall does make a pretty nice Euro oil that meets some MB, Porsche and VW spec I believe, but no mention of a Ford spec. Would it be safe to say that if an oil meets the Porsche VW spec that it would easily meet the Ford spec? (Such as in the case of the mobil 1 esp)
