Well, I'm done with the Auto-Rx cycle in my transmission. Today I changed out the filter, and did multiple drain & fills through the cooler until the fluid was coming out nice & clear.

Originally I was going to order some Schaeffers, but ended up buying a case of Mobil (conventional) ATF from Costco. I want to run the mobil for a thousand miles or so & swap out the fluid again. I found a Chevron distributor near here that can order anything (I recently ordered a case of DELO Synthetic from them). Does anybody know if the Chevron ATF performs as well as their oil does?

I can either order a case of the Chevron from them, Buy another case of Mobil from Costco, or get some Pennzoil from Pep Boys. What do you think I should run & why?

Thanks!

Any name brand you want/ because its not like engine oil, and the way costly ones don't payback enough IMO... Get a good Name brand and change when the color changes or "X" miles whichever is first.

I thought the Chevron ATF was the 'good' Group II+ stuff. Or thats what i remember Widman saying a while back.

My tranny is coming up on service time, so i was going to go with the Chevron. If nothing else, they have the "Isosyn" buzzword!!

ferb!

I've been using advance auto's house brand ATF for a few years now in my nissan, isuzu and GM auto trannys. I don't have any scientific data to support it's awesome stuff, but my automatics always shift the way they did the day I drove them off the lot. I do a few AT pan drain/fill cycles once a year in my vehicles (gotta love those drain plugs!)

With that many drain and fills you will never know if the fluid is any good or it is because you are changing it out so often that is keeping it like new. Sort of like changing your oil and filter every 2000 miles with a Fram filter and the least expensive oil on the shelf at the time. It works fine for you but for those that cannot do this several times a year it doesn't address whether it will work for 30,000 miles or more?

Two drain/fill cycles once a year (about every 15Kmi) is excessive? Two gallon jugs of advance ATF costs about $10. It takes less time than an oil change to do, plus the empty gallon jugs make it super easy to return the used ATF right back to where I bought it

. Like I say, I'm sure it's not the best, but with the yearly freshen-ups that I do, it's worked out great for my applications. Hey now- that fram filter comment was out of line
