Last month when I was investigating SP4-M fluid change at local Kia, Hyundai, and Jeep dealers, I was surprised that they ALL use BG services. Go figure.



Yea Valvoline Maxlife has meet the SP4-M spec for a while./ I have used it in 2 Hyundai's with no problems.

I change mine between 10-20k miles as well. Did it on my 06 Mazda 3 and will do it on my 15 GC this summer.

For traditional automatics, it's not so much about break in material from the gears, but the initial shedding of the friction material from the clutch packs and plates. Similar to some brake pads that dust a lot when brand new for a while, but after few hundred miles it tapers off.
