wheel protection?

Anything out there that actually offers useful wheel protection? I picked up some NOS factory take offs for my 2011 and looking to maximize their lifespan here in the salt belt. Probably no reason to do more than give them a wipe down with spray wax as I doubt there is anything that will really hold up appreciably well anyways, eh?
 
My suggestion is one dedicated microfiber cloth to your wheels for the wipe down. Use any spraywax you like after you wash. I like Turtlewax products. To me, they have proven their durability.
 
I try not to clean the brown coating that develops on the tire. I understand this is a UV-resistant coating formulated in the tire compound designed to bleed out.
 
Use a multipart cleaning process; de-grease, decon with iron remover, wash and then finish with rubbing alcohol to strip the residue. Then ceramic coat.
