I put SKF hub assembly on my Avalanche 3 years ago but there pricey.
I m leaning toward them again but there is much cheaper options out there. Detroit axel has a pair for 89.
Any other proven suggestions ?
1 SKF hub is much more than 2 of them

Timken used to be king along with SKF and Spicer. In today's global manufacturing environment that may not still be true.

Skf, timekin and moog within 4 bucks at rock auto 104 to 108 each.
Detroit axel 89 for 2 plus free shipping amazon

OE or SKF. Moog is junk, it was National NOS when they first took them over but has long since used that supply up and now is Chicom rubbish.
Timken is a crap shoot, they seem to rebox as much as they produce. Detroit axle is one of the lowest of the low quality white box.

Moog is definitely junk, as is Detroit Axle. If you act quick, RA lists a Mevotech Terrain Tough bearing for $97, only one left. An SKF is $115 (this is assuming a 4wd truck). I'd jump on that, I have no personal experience but from what I've heard the Terrain Tough parts are actually decent.

I have installed a lot of hub bearings. Let me say this - it is true Mevotech and Detroit Axle are junk. Moog is hit or miss and Timken still lasts a long time but the price is higher. My latest go to hub is the Rockauto WJB brand. They are priced very well and last. The quality is good and I have not had a single one come back yet. Most of your Autozone white box hub and others will last a year or 2 max. I first put a WJB on my 2008 CTS on the right side and a Moog on the left as a test before I started using them for customers. Both hubs installed the same day and they have about 21k miles on them. Both still fine. The moog was $100 and the WJB was $60....I don't see any reason to pay more for the Moog when the WJB is doing just as well. So check them out on Rockauto.

You get what you pay for.

Thanks for suggestions.
I went with SKF since this is my wifes truck and often running 70 on hwy.
Rock auto was way cheaper than local auto parts stores so i will wait.

That would be my top choice, SKF via Rockauto. You do have to be careful where you buy so you don’t get a counterfeit.

109 each, Im replacing both since they have almost 205k on them.

People say this this or that brand is junk. Don't buy it and only buy X, Y or Z, but at the end of the day, you won't know what's in the box until you open it and look. Even then you don't really know at times.

I'm not knocking anyone's experience on this! It's just the way it is. To me, the best you can do is buy it locally so you can get a look at it before you buy or not buy.

For me, if I have the time and resources. It's my own vehicle and not a horrible job to do, I'll risk a less expensive mail order part. Sometimes you're surprised it's an OEM or better item.

I wont buy Timken online that's for sure as you say you have no idea whats in the box, its like buying parts from Monty Hall. I will buy SKF or FAG they do not do a whole lot of reboxing if any. They do have plants in China but they are owned by them and supplied, QC, etc by them.
With China being the largest new car market and manufacturer (includes all makes) in the world it is understandable they make parts there.

Timken are the absolute best bearings I have found SKF are good and Moog. Just whatever brand you get be sure not to cheap out on them i had a friend who bought some $20 wheel bearings and they failed in 3 days so I used my dealership discount since I work there and got him two new ones still till this day he has those bearings still in so nothing like the cheap ones did.

Im hopping there made in use when my skf come in.only bearing more on rock auto were a/c delco. Not sure who makes the high teir delco parts

Well opened my SkF hub assemblies.
Made in mexico .
2016 so old stock, not that that matters.they feel different, maybe just the grease, we will see.
Wish I tried timekin now.

Careful what you wish for you may have gotten reboxed whoflungdung Chicom crap with no COO on the box or the part. SKF has plants all over the world to feed the auto manufacturers located there, it is not just a cost saving measure.
The is a big difference between made in Mexico or wherever by (enter brand) and made for --- in Mexico or --- You will not have any issues with that part.

My SKF on my other truck still fine after 3 years so I hope so. I just thought they would be made in USA. I know with bearing you want a high quality bearing if its gona last. Hope SKF quality control in mexico is good
