BlueOval,

When I had Hondas/Acuras, I followed the manual and changed the filter every other OCI. I would link it for you, but since my phone leaves a lot to be desired, I'll let you look for the manual first. If you don't have luck, I'll find it from my computer at some point.

In other news, I am currently planning to change the filter in my Ecoboost once every two OCI. I plan on changing oil at 50% on the olm.

To put this post closer to on topic, i used PL14610 and plan on sticking to MC or maybe Fram on the Eco boost

To each his own.

As you have certains ways you things, so do I. I will continue to replace my oil filter at each OCI. A MC oil filter is only $3.97 + tax. To me, that's just cheap insurance.
If I were to use a premium oil filter, ie. FRAM Ultra, M1, P1 Synthetic, etc., I would run the oil longer but STILL change the filter at EVERY OCI.

Don't waste your money if that's what you'd do with a high OCI filter ... unless of course you ran full synthetic and went for a good long OCI (like 10K miles).

ZeeOSix, what OCI would you recommend I change my current oil at? (In my Signature)

You could contact Castrol and ask them. What's your owner's manual say for what oil to use (probably Motorcraft dino) and what OCI for normal use? I'd say the SynBlend could probably go 7,500 in normal driving conditions.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. But, I currently have 3800 miles and 6.5 months on this OCI. I was going to do the 7.5K/6 month OCI when I went to the Castrol.

BTW, 95% highway miles.

Any synthetic or synthetic blend can go 1 year OCIs. Dumping it after 6 months is way too early, especially if you're doing mostly highway miles. I've even ran full synthetic (Mobil 1 5W-30) in my Vette for 1-1/2 years because it doesn't get tons of miles per year. Didn't hurt anything ... inside of the engine is spotless.

That's what I'd figure it good for without a UOA as well.

I understand and respect everyone's opinions on oil and filter selections. My favorite filter is an OEM filter. And here is why... everytime I go to a car show, I always go to look at the pure EOM factory cars as they left the dealer, I spend extra in parts just to have that "Jag" label, and to see that label on a filter makes me feel all happy inside
