I pulled a hub cap off my wife's recently purchased Prius to find this! She's put about 10k miles on it like this.

Are those lugs backwards? I’m used to seeing more of a cone on the wheel side, that has some sort of centering feature / step that I’m used to seeing—but I also don’t have a Prius either. It doesn’t look like the lugs I’ve seen on my cars, that’s fer sure.

Is that a steel rim? I thought all Prius came with alloys. Which might have different Toyota lugnuts, I wouldn’t know, I’ve never had a Toyota with ”fancy” alloys. But often the lugs are different between alloy and steel.

Lastly, is that water running down? looks more like some sort of light oil.

after that, I’m out of observations…

No, you're correct, supton. I was rotating the tires and found one wheel with the lug nuts installed backwards. While they were not loose, per se, they came off with less torque then the others.

They are steel rims with hubcaps on this car. We got it used, but they look factory.

The liquid you see is water as it had rained a bit and I was doing it in the driveway.
