What's up with Fuel Prices ....

Lets face it when they finally had an excuse to raise prices they did and when we squealed they stopped. They they backed it down till we stopped screaming but not as far as it was. Then we got used to it. Then when they had the chance they raised prices again till we squealed and then the backed off once again not to where they were but above the old price. Then it happens again. So now they know we are conditioned to $3.00 a gallon (more depending on location) and they can get away with it, so as any corporation who mandate by LAW is to maximize profits they will raise the price again. 2 years again well yelled about 2.25 then 2.50. But now we are seeing $3 and not a word in the public. No public outcry so why would they not raise the price????
You see if $3.00 a gallon did not curb our fuel appetite then it's our own fault we told them we would pay it. Beside the Government gets more profit out of a gallon gas then they do. We do nto cry about that either.

What's up with the cost of college. It's up about 800% in the last 30 years!
Don't look now, and knock on wood, but our gas prices dropped 2 to 5 cents today.
Filled the tank there today. Unleaded regular has went up another 10 ¢!

Wow, exactly what I am talking about...you mention ANYTHIING about the EPA and some tree hugger beaureaucrat sticks a graph or chart in your face that "proves" his claim to a fat government salary. When all this emissions HYPE is based on 1 or 2 overepopulated counties that are located in a grographical basin that by design will have smog for the next 5000 years. It is a fact that 10 hurricane Katrinas could not blow away the LA smog cloud. The only "fix" to this problem is to discontinue driving internal combustion engines there completely. Those charts are fake and made up by the EPA to keep their "gravy train" rolling because the EPA is a good scam right now just like the global warming scam. They pull that fake emissions garbage here in Cleveland....they actually had a Global Warming Commission speaking at the Cleveland City Club about our "warming" problem 3 weeks ago and it was snowing outside.....what a scam.....
You need to include the number of US factories that have been idled by moving to Mexico or Asia since 1975...or do they just measure the air coming out of autombile tailpipes...LOL
Wonder what we will pay when summer driving season starts? See on the internet that the price of crude oil took quite a jump today!

Seems that every time now that we buy fuel the price has edged up a few ¢. Traffic seems just as heavy as always.

PT, wow, I know gas prices must be hurting because it took this long (well into the second page) before someone took a cheap shot at the hybrids. Just for contrast, while I do care, reasonably, about the environment, I'm not about to make a car purchase on that basis (not alone, anyway). I drive, and really like, my Prius for a lot of reasons, prominent among which is the fact that it burns less than 1/2 the fuel of my previous mid-sized sedan. Driving almost 40k miles per year, that does add up. More so now that fuel here is hovering around $3/gal.
California may have its insane aspects, but I'm not going to engage with you on those, as your comments were right up at the line of an R/S/P violation. Please don't go there. Thanks.
I wonder what will come first (or whether they'll come together): less driving or swarms of hybrids and micro-cars?

What is an R/S/P violation? The stuff I just removed, below, is.

PT, sometimes it's hard to define, but if it says "Greenie, "Al Gore", and "China" all in the same sentence, it's probably a POLITICS violation. I see your point, but again, the owner requires that we stay away from such issues. The idea, btw, is not to suppress one opinion or another, but rather, to keep the climate friendly for everyone.
I must disagree about the savings I net from my Prius. For me, it adds to more than $200 per month. Perhaps the fuel I don't use will, in some sense end up being used on a foreign shore, if so, oh well. I can think of a lot of things to do with that extra $200.
