It's nice to get info straight from a manufacturer's rep, but BITOG owners/admin are pretty protective...just FYI.

If they don't want information such as this posted, then they're overprotective.

Not overprotective, just fair. Our sponsors keep this forum up and running for everyone. Why would sponsors want to keep paying the freight if we allowed anyone else to come along and advertise for free? We're not looking to be hard with anyone, but we have to do right by those who put down their hard-earned cash to support the site. Now, let's move back to the topic at hand.

I think the next big oil will be something along the lines of a "Pennzoil Platinum Extended Performance" that will tout 10 or 15K change intervals. Or maybe a new Mobil called, "Mobil Clean 10,000".

Saturn_Fan, I've been hoping that Pennzoil would come out with just such a product. A Platinum with a good dose of PAO and a TBN of 12 or so would be awesome.

2 Ideas:

-Mobil 2

-With the move to smaller engine size and fuel efficiency we've seen lately I wouldn't doubt Eneos, Nippon, or some eastern brand might do well. When the economy goes back up alot of kids will inherit their parents' old Honda/Toyota/Hyundai/Kia/Suzuki or whatever and there's going to be a huge market for 'Tuner' AKA 'Ricer' products, not the least of which will be thin weight "JDM" oil. Everyone knows that there is at a horsepower gain of 5% for every object on your ricer that is made exclusively in Asia. Stickers yeild +3% or +5% if the writing is in Japanese. Cold air intakes, neon lights, fartbox exhausts and enormous wings for the back of FWD cars will also do well. Buy your stock now.

Kinda...like...Schaeffers 9000 series.

Doesn't matter what new oil comes out . People will still change it at 3k .

Hi,
chevrofreak - Porsche for one has had at least one year or 20kkms (12k miles) as a OCI for at least 30 years. This went out to two years and has since been brought back to one year with their new DI engines

MB's OCIs here average about 17kkms (11k miles) and about 15 months - this, over several years

But, this is OT!
