What’s a 1997 Maytag Washer & Dryer Worth?

Front loaders use less water (hot or cold), are easier on clothes (clothes last longer) and spin fast so less time and energy spent on drying.

Scrap light iron is $99/ton, that about sums it up.
As many have said: Keep the dinosaurs and ditch the yuppies. Get what you can for your Whirlpool set and enjoy many years of faithful service from the veterans.
When I bought my house in 2014, it came with the Hyundai Accent of washer/dryers, Maytag circa-'10. I have yet to have an issue with either unit, aside from the water inlet solenoid on the washer sticking ONCE causing a lack of hot water flow. The issue lasted 2 cycles and by the time the new valve was delivered from Amazon the problem had resolved itself.
