The I.D. of the drain valve is larger than a lot of oil gally's in the engine and crank. So if your oil is too gunked up to pass through the drain valve, you've got other, far more serious problems.

Oil in an engine isn't moved by gravity. Hook up s PD oil pump to that drain valve and that small drain hole will flow a lot better.

Agree. But the point being sludge is sludge. It's not going to move through an engine, drain, or lubricate as efficiently or effectively as sludge free lubricant, that's changed out at regular intervals. Running higher oil pressure is not a solution to running gunked up oil. Or is having a larger oil drain hole.

Yeah, if there's sludge in the pan there's probably even more in the valve train. And heavy sludge in the pan probably isn't going to get picked up by the pump intake. All anyone can do with a small drain valve hole is drain the oil when hot to help it flow better. If sludge is trying to block the drain, then watching the stream of oil as it drains should reveal if the drain is getting blocked, or "chunks" of sludge are trying to drain out.
