I went and looked at this truck, super nice people. The husband passed away and they’re selling the truck he has taken care of it! I’m going to list the faults I saw but none of it was a huge deal.
Rust on both cab corners . The only place I saw rust.
Power steering line leaks a little bit
Oil pan or possible timing cover leaking a little bit
Dash has a couple cracks
A/C compressor doesn’t kick on
Mode door doesn’t function correctly blows on face but not feet or defrost.

You can tell the truck has been take care of and not abused. It runs very well. It’s the 305 v8 but ran very good shifted good etc.
the bones are in great shape!
It is 2wd which is fine for me. My struggle is the price. I know they’ll take 6k but I can’t imagine it’s worth that much. It is a decent example of one of these trucks and I do think it’s a good truck but it does have a few issues. I left to think on it but wanted outside perspectives. Thanks everyone!
In my mind it’s a 4k truck give or take. Am I wrong? What would you pay?

Rust means everything in an older vehicle. How was the rust on the brake pipes and fuel lines?

2WD just killed off 99 percent of potential buyers. I would be closer to the $3,000 USD figure than the $6,000 USD figure. Nobody wants a 2wd truck. Not that 4wd is actually needed by 99 percent of truck buyers, but people buy what they want, not what they need.

Good deals on well-maintained pickup trucks don't last 24 hours on Facebook marketplace. That truck has been listed for six days= not a good deal. Finally, why so few pictures from the seller? Another flag.

If you love the truck, $3k USD. 230k miles and 2wd. not many buyers for that. Note, I owned a 2WD F350 for almost 20 years. When I went to sell it, I knew my buyers pool was tiny because it was 2wd.

They were pretty clean. The whole underneath of the truck was pretty clean. Rust on the cab corners on the extended cab was about the only rust I saw.surface rust on frame and axle etc but nothing major or alarming.

I got my 91 F150 with 136k miles, working AC, 5.8L engine, 2wd for $2500. It's very solid, too, except for the cab corners.

The ad is disingenuous: "Everything works" but the AC doesn't work.

These people have no idea how to sell a car. Politely leave them your info and ask for a call if the price drops. They'll have to figure this out; no sense trying to argue them into reality before they're ready.

They sold a billion cazillion of these truck. IMO there is no good reason to spend that kind of money on that truck. Find one in better shape & lower miles. "5.3L" in the description

I think you’re 100% right! Super nice people but they aren’t to sure what they’re doing. They also just lost their husband and are emotional about it I’m sure.
When I told her the A/C didn’t work she seemed surprised but totally unaware. She asked me to point out everything I saw so she knew. She just wasn’t aware. The truck was above average for our area and the underneath was **** close to excellent which I do think is worth a premium but I struggle with the money they want.
I know it’s a lot but I’d probably pay 4500 for it or so and be ok with it. 🤷

Yea, 2 to 3k.
I unfortunately am realizing that those prices around me get you rusted out worn out junk. We are in a rural area where trucks are a popular buy and yeah I recently sold a 91 dodge d150 that was Far from perfect for 4,000 this truck is quite a bit better than it was.

The body on that truck looks really good in the pictures to me !
6K might be a stretch though .
Offer them $4500 nothing to lose ....

They sold it this evening for $5500 I did offer 4500 but they let me know someone offered 5500 and they were going to pick it up tomorrow. Truck prices are crazy!
You did ok not being the high bidder on that truck. You didn't mention anything that was significant about that particular year, make, and model of truck to you, so the purchase is an unemotional business transaction.

It's funny, I tried selling my 2002 F350 4x4 crew cab Lariat with 200k miles in excellent running condition, like new interior, very clean body, like new Michelin tires, new oem.headelights, I could go on and on, for $9500 and could not give the truck away. In my case, I kept the truck, but it told me what the market valued my truck at, and it wasn't $9500.
