My dads car was involved in an accident on one of the many snow storms we had. A plow truck while not plowing lost control and "plowed" right into the drivers side front and damaged the front end, puncturing the tire, head light and destroying the grill and radiator. Everybody came out fine so that was good. The car had close to $10,000 in damages and its been at the body shop since early January and should be ready by the end of February.
My question is, would you change the motor oil once the car is back? The car is a '10 MB E350 with only 4000 miles. I had just changed the oil in October to Royal Purple 5w40 and has approximately 2500 miles on this oil change.
So what would you do?

Just in case what? Seems to me it should be perfectly fine and would be a waste of good Royal Purple (and money) to dump the fill.

Ouch!

I don't see why the oil would need to be changed.

It was more of a fresh start but the overwhelming consensus is to leave it be so I will just do that.

I would be more concerned about whether to keep the car given the amount of damage. Fuutre issues usually crop up after a large accident but down the road and insurance company will deny after the fact.

I am trying to convince my dad about this issue but he wants to wait and see what the next generation Lexus GS brings to the table. If he likes it he just may jump ship and get rid of the MB.
