What weight oil would you run in a 2011 Ford F150 with 3.5 L gas eco-boost?

I don't think oil matters in these turds. I put Phillips 66 10w -30 diesel oil in everything at work and we still had to do timing chains and runners in one of those. Imo if a hdeo can't protect the chain no oil can
There was a chain stretch test that was adopted by the API SP standard (and Dexos1 Gen3), that I believe was added specifically to address Ford's timing chain issues. The ASTM test uses a 2012 Ford Ecoboost 2.0L engine. It could be that an HDEO might work just as well or better, but I'd be inclined to use an oil that has passed a timing chain wear test in a similar engine. There's no equivalent test requirement in API CK-4, and it could be that the particular HDEO you used would have performed poorly in the chain wear test.
