What was your first oil change ever?

First car: 1968 Plymouth Fury III, first change by me about 1975. Used Gulf Oil or Quaker State. The inside of those valve covers must have had 1/2" of tar like build up in them. Still ran strong anyway.

it was in 1986.

i changed the oil on a 1982 ford courier pick up, 2.3L

quakerstate 10w-40 fram ph16

we kept that truck for 200,000 miles (with little repairs) and still saw it driving around town years after we sold it.

1987 Ford Mustang 5.0 Notchback... Valvoline VR1 20W-50. Car should of taken 5W-30. Obviously, I was one of those guys who thought thicker was better

My 97 cavalier, when I got it from my grandfather. Also when I joined BITOG. Valvoline Maxlife Blend 10W-40 and a PureONE filter, and a Tranny pan drop and fluid/filter change.

First oil change was a 1965 Triumph TR-4. I remember it had a canister filter.

Otherwise it was a piece of british junk. Taught me a lot about fixing cars!

Motorcycle: my brother's early '60-something 650 Triumph ("bored out to 710cc") with Castrol (but not GTX: that didn't come along 'til 1968, or so...). I don't think it even had a filter.

Car: 1963 Plymouth Valient Signet 200 ragtop, 225 slant-6, pushbutton Torqueflite: oil was probably Pennzoil yellow cans, a MoPar filter, and a tranny service including filter and a new pan gasket!

Both circa 1965.

Cheers!

Hello, Dad's 1970 Mercury Monteray 400 2V. QSDeLuxe 10W-30 in Winter, 10W-40 in Summer. Correct filter of unknown brand. That engine used NO oil and barely got it dirty. Kira

1964 Plymouth Valiant 2-Door Post with a 170 ci Slant 6 and 3-on-the-tree.
93 mph Stock (1.875" Exhaust).
101 mph Modified (2.25" Exhaust and 225 ci Carb).
Oil was Chevron and filter was a NAPA.

Year 2000, first vehicle, Black Jeep Comanche pickup 4x4 with the 4.0, AX-15 5 speed, NP231 transfer case, Dana 30 front and Dana 35 rear. 5 quarts Moto-Tech 20w-50, 1 quart ACE 10w-40, Purolator Classic oil and air. Have owned 13 Jeeps since(all Cherokees),4 Ford pickups, 1 Chevy, 2 Mazdas, 1 Toyota, a BMW and have probably performed close to 100 oil together since.

The car in which I learned to drive, 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 (see signature); sometime in 1971. Used Valvoline SAE 30 and Ford C1AZ-6731A (aka FL1-A) oil filter; can't remember when the Autolite brand switched to Motorcraft though. My dad bought the car brand new and gave it to me; his grandson and I drove it 2200 miles home this past June.

A 1971 International pickup truck, my dads truck, Quaker State 30wt with the old push in spout and a Hastings filter the old cardboard cans that would crush if you weren't careful with the spout when inserting it into the can. Have had one oil change since that i didn't do myself took my car to Jiffy Lube when my right arm was in a cast about 4 years ago.

I always loved the looks of those trucks.

Did my first one back in about 1980. Dad let me drive the 1973 Grand Torino Sport. Used Pennzoil 10w-40 and a crummy Fram from what I can recall. The oil was in a paper can with a metal top and bottom. Had to use one of those sharp puncture type steel funnels.

I was always helping my Dad or brothers until I got my license. Then I started wrenching on my 84 Mazda 626. But my first OC was on my parent's 84 Caravan.

1987 Olds Cerria Coupe 2.7 L
Motormaster Supreme (red bottle) 5W-30 with Motormaster Filter ( Canadian Tire) as I worked at CT part time while going to school and got items at cost for being an employee.

My first car was a white '93 Pontiac Lemans hatchback. First oil change I did myself was 4.5 quarts Castrol GTX 10W30 and a Powerflo filter. Why do I remember that? Because I'm a huge nerd.
