First car: 1968 Plymouth Fury III, first change by me about 1975. Used Gulf Oil or Quaker State. The inside of those valve covers must have had 1/2" of tar like build up in them. Still ran strong anyway.
My 97 cavalier, when I got it from my grandfather. Also when I joined BITOG. Valvoline Maxlife Blend 10W-40 and a PureONE filter, and a Tranny pan drop and fluid/filter change.
Motorcycle: my brother's early '60-something 650 Triumph ("bored out to 710cc") with Castrol (but not GTX: that didn't come along 'til 1968, or so...). I don't think it even had a filter.
Car: 1963 Plymouth Valient Signet 200 ragtop, 225 slant-6, pushbutton Torqueflite: oil was probably Pennzoil yellow cans, a MoPar filter, and a tranny service including filter and a new pan gasket!
Hello, Dad's 1970 Mercury Monteray 400 2V. QSDeLuxe 10W-30 in Winter, 10W-40 in Summer. Correct filter of unknown brand. That engine used NO oil and barely got it dirty. Kira

Used Valvoline SAE 30 and Ford C1AZ-6731A (aka FL1-A) oil filter; can't remember when the Autolite brand switched to Motorcraft though. My dad bought the car brand new and gave it to me; his grandson and I drove it 2200 miles home this past June.

Did my first one back in about 1980. Dad let me drive the 1973 Grand Torino Sport. Used Pennzoil 10w-40 and a crummy Fram from what I can recall. The oil was in a paper can with a metal top and bottom. Had to use one of those sharp puncture type steel funnels.
I was always helping my Dad or brothers until I got my license. Then I started wrenching on my 84 Mazda 626. But my first OC was on my parent's 84 Caravan.

Motormaster Supreme (red bottle) 5W-30 with Motormaster Filter ( Canadian Tire) as I worked at CT part time while going to school and got items at cost for being an employee.
My first car was a white '93 Pontiac Lemans hatchback. First oil change I did myself was 4.5 quarts Castrol GTX 10W30 and a Powerflo filter. Why do I remember that? Because I'm a huge nerd.

If you were a TRUE nerd would have remembered what API spec the oil was
