1987 Cavalier RS...was 9 when I got it. Great little car! Had it nearly 10 years, and would have still had it today if not for the rust (which I was fixing) and being hit twice....

I always liked the 283. They ran extreemly smooth.

My first car was a 1971 Vega GT station wagon purchased new in August 1971. What a POS. The engine had a woefully inadequate cooling system, which was negligent engineering given the unsleeved aluminum block, and the car was shoddily assembled. When I sold it at the 90K mile mark (after a new short block at 11K miles under warranty and iron sleeves in the cylinders at 48K miles), it burned a quart of oil every 300-500 miles.

I will never buy another GM car.

Wow, saying you will never buy another GM car based on a Vega you bought in 1971? Sigh.

'68 BUICK LeSabre 2dr(almost identical to the WildCat). Buick 350 ci w/4bbl Rochester carb. Blue/Green paint and black interior/black vinal roof. Real vinal on the seats. Talk about hot in the summer, OUCH!
The 5 push buttons on the AM radio spelled, B-U-I-C-K

Then got a '73 ChryslerNewPortCustom 2dr 400ci w/2bbl Holley carb. Electronic Ignition. This thing was FAST! 4400lbs and was a rocket off the line. Put in an FM converter. Remember those?

This was my most memerable car, tripple green.

I always liked the 283 myself as it did run extremely smooth and it was overall good on fuel plus it was a excellent engine..It ran just as smooth as my 4.6 Ford.

Brand new 1970 Plymouth Duster 340, 4 spd, 3.55 Sure-Grip, hemi orange in color, I added a Stewart-Warner tach and glass pack straight through mufflers, went and sounded like a bat out of [censored], but with no power steering or brakes it was a bear to drive at slow speeds. Original cost was $3341 in Canada.

I sure wish I hadn't sold it in 1972.

I'm still driving my first car, and it's a 2001.5 Nissan Pathfinder. I've also only been driving for a year and four months now... guess I'm definitely one of the younger members here.

Well back in the good ole days seemed that pretty much everyone was running American iron? The good ole days. I have never owned an import.

Not that I wouldn't.........

1988 Plymouth Sundance with the 2.2L N/A and 3 speed auto.

Quite possibly the slowest car on the road. But it did the job.

1976 buick regal 2 door. 350 2bbl. It was one smooth car, great ride and heavy as all get out. if you opened the door with the driver side up hill , you had to bench press your way out. Black 1/2 vinyl top. Kind of wish i had one, lots of leg room and a really smoooth ride. The only vehicle that rides better is my avalanche.

My first was a '90 with the same powertrain. Load up four of your friends in it and try to climb a Western Pennsylvania hill...ego crushing for a 16 yo!

Hi,
in 1955 mine was a 1939 Ford Anglia Tudor

I learnt to "handle" cars in a 1939 FIAT 500 Topolino - in snow, ice and etc. Only down hills though as you almost had to push it up hills!
