I have a 1996 Dodge Ram Van 3500, 5.2L V8. It's time for differential fluid change. I have several quarts of mobil1 75w-90, but I am not sure if the car requires for 75w-90 or 75w-140.
Also, how do I know if my car is equipped with limited slip differential?

The Ram van wouldn't have an LSD. We have a couple at work a 96, and 99 with the 5.2L. Your owners manual can tell you for sure, but I'm betting that the 75w-90 would do the job nicely. Most vehicles that specify 75w-90 can also accommodate 75w-140 if you live in a hot climate.

Would you say that the vehicles that specify 75W-140 can also accommodate 75W-90?
I guess you are saying that going thicker is no problem, but what about going thinner?
My owner's manual does not indicate which type of differential fluid I need.

I have not changed the fluid yet on my Ram Van 2500 but I recently asked the dealer and was told the Factory used 80W 90 which was very common at that time, I will install the 75W 90 Amsoil, the Mobil 1 will be an excellant choice.

I agree, If I did not have an inventory of Amsoil I would do that, but I always stock up and it is easier to use what I already have available.
