I am trying to get the drain bolt off the transfer case on my 2003 Rav4. I have very little due to the pipe running right next to the bolt. What tool/technique can I use?

Open-ended wrench. Or stick a shallow socket in it with a square to hex adapter. That'll let you sneak a wrench, preferably ratcheting, onto the adapter so it can be removed.

Or unclip some exhaust hangers and move the pipe.

Your fins are clean. Mine case leaks and the fins are covered in fluid. My drain bolt came off easily. Is it a 24mm socket? I used a 6pt 24mm socket on mine.

Well it looks like you got a socket on it. So click your ratchet onto it an start turning it. Counter Clockwise.

So I bought a regular 24 mm wrench, and it was a no go. The bolt is recessed with tight clearance, so I cannot get much of the wrench onto the bolt without cam out. For that reason, I am also concerned that a crow's foot wrench will not work.

The pass through socket suggested by eljefino looks like it might work. Can I put the 24 mm wrench onto the other side of that socket?
