Give us some examples of leakers. Funny, I have been using M1 oils since 1978 and have never had a leak that produced a drip on the garage floor.

Most recently was my 97 Eclipse GST, evo3 Big 16g on e-85 started leaking from the oil pan gasket with 91K using M1. With that kind of mileage I kind of figured it would, no previous history on car so don't know what the previous owner used, I bought it stock so probably just used some quick lube/ dino oil. Swithched to Royal purple and turbo sounded super funky at full boost, drained it asap and used Valvoline Synpower untill I sold it.

98 Dodge Neon R/T Bought from 1 owner girl with 89k No leakes nothing, car was stored winter's and her dad had all maint. records since new, he used PYB it's whole life and mopar filter's. First thing I did when I got it home was swap out the PYB with M1, no more than 3k later the rear main was leaking and started getting damp around oil pan gasket, so that's strike two for me and the M1, but I still didn't learn my lesson.

96 Dodge Neon sohc 156k. This was my winter beater/ Ice racer, figured since I get M1 free i'll just run it in this to, strike 3! leaked like crazy all over and added a qt. to it every few weeks.

Strange,we just had an Eclipse in our shop today running RP,and it was fine, turbocharged even!

Now, HM oils may have some effect over very minor weeps because of their seal swell additives. And are you saying that M1 oils in general cause leaks and dino will not? Well how do you explain all the leakers that only use dino. No logic to your claim that only M1 causes leaks. We're not buying it.

I don't like Mobil 1 and won't use it again. I was a huge fan of this oil for years until I started doing oil analysis. More wear metals as well as a noisier engine and increased oil consumption. From what I could tell, it did keep the engine clean though.

It may just have been the GM engines I used it in(4.3 V6, 3800 V6, and 5.7 V8) that caused issues but when I went back to using conventional oils in the 3800 and 5.7, the symptoms above went away. 4.3 was gone by this time.

Granted this was back in the early 2000's when I was running this stuff in my vehicles but I felt I wasn't getting my money's worth and what I considered worse performance so I quit using it. I don't use any synthetic now and haven't since using Mobil 1. Synthetics have their place but for most applications and use, conventional oil is fine.

M1 caused all the leaks, too bad as I always liked it since my dad used it in all his vehicles and I get it free! then again I don't buy brand new vehicles every year with no miles on them and run M1 when they are new like him, chances are if you use M1 in a higher mileage car that's had dino it's whole life it will leak or use it.
So you tell me if I switch to M1 in my daily driver/ Alero that has had good old dino ran in it it's whole life and has almost 160k on it that it won't leak a drop?? This car is super clean no leaks of anything what so ever right now, I almost feel like using it as a test subject and take a video of me dumping in the M1 and taking pictues/ video every 2 or 3k of the oil pan/ under the car and see how wet she gets over time.
