Valvoline does not market their synthetics for 10, 15 or 25K OCIs. I don't believe they ever have. Instead they fall back on telling you to follow your owners manual. I know many VOAs have shown that their oils can go the distance. But if you have a car for instance that recommends a 7500 mile or 10000 mile OCI, would you not feel just a little better knowing they state that it will go that fsr?

Knowing that the mileage ratings on all oils are just marketing and the other guys tell you to follow your manufacturers OCI , It doesn’t bother me that they don’t list a mileage. FWIW I wouldn’t run Castrol or Mobil EP to 20-25k miles, and it won’t hold up to that in most use cases

When I see 15, 20 or 25K miles on the jug, at least I know it's not a dino or a mix. :ROFLMAO:

I like Valvoline EP 5W-30 btw.

That is very smart on their part; it avoids so many issues for them. Common sense and manufacturer recommendations should be followed for OCIs, and if you want to be valedictorian, as Lake Speed Jr. puts it, you go the extra mile and do oil analysis to determine a trend for your OCIs. That's how you know. Is it worth it for your average Toyota Camry or whatever A-to-B vehicle? Probably not. But when you run a fleet of expensive commercial vehicles, then it's definitely worth it.

No idea and don’t care. I’m like BrendanC as I like their EPHM oil. Jury still out on restore and protect

My work truck (2017 F150 NA3.5L) is managed by a fleet company and I am told to do 7500 mile oil changes regardless of driving style or type. I take it to Ford and they use Motorcraft semi synthetic. I snuck it in at 6800 miles this time due to the spark plugs needing to be changed according to their schedule.

At 97,000 miles it started using a quart every 5000 miles, which isn’t terrible, but could have been avoided with 5000 mile oil changes.

It could have been avoided by using a better oil. Changing it slightly sooner would not have made an impact on its consumption

My work van is a transit with the same 3.5 N.A. v6. They were doing it every 3500 miles but once they realized I was getting there much faster then everyone else they’ve bumped me to 4500 miles give or take depending on what’s the closest even number lol. Cheap fleet oil and I think Parts Master filters. I’ve been doing our Ford Edge with the NA 3.5 every 6 months and this last go round the Fram Ultra tore at some point in 4500 miles . So now I’m going to run a couple different filters at a shorter interval and see how they do. 6 months works out good for seasons and mileage for us.

I actually prefer that Valvoline doesn’t make inflated claims. It lends them credibility IMO.

How much R&D does it take to make a marketing claim? Not much at all.
