Valvoline marketing

Valvoline does not market their synthetics for 10, 15 or 25K OCIs. I don't believe they ever have. Instead they fall back on telling you to follow your owners manual. I know many VOAs have shown that their oils can go the distance. But if you have a car for instance that recommends a 7500 mile or 10000 mile OCI, would you not feel just a little better knowing they state that it will go that fsr?
It’s not the oil but the particular vehicle and if it’s abusive on oil, fuel dilution etc. super tech and Kirkland are 10k capable oil why would valvoline not be?

Yessir! Thinking the synthetic handled 10k well - conventional should be a shorter OCI …
My interpretation of the video is that their chassis dyno test cycle is missing some of the main aggravators— idling and low temperature/low load operation.

I’ve seen similar chassis dyno tests, for example the classic M1 demo showing 1 million miles with almost no wear. Well, yes. Because the wear isn’t happening when the engine is warmed up and under load. It’s the cold and idling and such that kills it.
