What seals liners to the block? (Cummins)

Found a cool older truck. It's been sitting about 9 yrs w/o any water or coolant in the block.

I got ot fired up and it seems to run great. Idles smooth and revs good.

It's a 335 Cummins. Could the lack of coolant cause the liners to dump coolant into the oil?

Also how hard is it to change the air compressor? Looks like the Inj pumps gotta come off and the bolts look pretty hard to acess.
