Had thr first oil change on my wifes 2014 Mazda CX 5 2.5 engine. The dealer said to use full syn. with moley only. What oils have that in them? Thank you jz.

Don't listen to the dealer. It's moly by the way. Just make sure you use oil that meets the specs the manufacture has required in the owners manual and you are good. You can look under the virgin oil analysis section and you will find several oils with moly in it and I'm sure a lot of them will meet the spec for your engine as well.

Yeah...it's "required to achieve optimum fuel efficiency." Right there in black and white. Says nothing about optimum engine protection, though...odd.

If you are bound and determined to use an oil with a high Moly content, then Schaeffer 9000 series full synthetic oils gets you on that bandwagon. They are definitely loaded up with moly. 5w30 and 5w20 versions.
Seems more oils use Moly than not (i.e. Titanium).
A check on PQI VOAs usually list the Moly, or not. BTOG used oil analysis to.

Pennzoil Platinum 0W20 and LM MoS2.

Mazda's proprietary lube is loaded with moly IIRC, probably where the dealer got that notion. You don't "need" it, but there is nothing wrong with having it.
