177,000 miles 2016 Mazda6 peek into the valvetrain

Oil change today, 5k interval. Switching to 5k oil/10k filter, previously was doing 7.5k for both. With the higher mileage, it's time to drop the interval a bit.

Oil level was about 3/5 between low and full on the stick. So a slight burn rate but not bad.

Took a peek in the valve cover and here's what's up.

Have used Mazda oil for the first ~80k, Napa or other parts store oil till ~120k, then Costco oil for the last few years.

Nice. I have 134k same vehicle. Looks very similar. I need to replace the valve cover and I'll get a big peek

Think I have a very minor valve cover gasket oil leak, it's been going on probably for 80k. Haven't worried about it yet.

These are very engines with basic oil changes.
