Whatever cheap conventional is on sale. People around here are cheap, and don't give a [censored] about there cars...half these dudes are like undercover soccer momd

Let's see... There's Havoline Conventional, Castrol GTX Conventional... Think that about covers it. No one here even uses PYB.

Castrol and Valvoline as far as regular conventional, with Havoline being a strong third. HDEO is predominately Rotella and Delo. Synthetics, I have no idea.

Mobil 1 is everywhere i think Mobil 1 sells itself because it is a good oil i don't think wal mart has to push Mobil for people to buy it.
As for Dino Valvoline Pennzoil Mobil and castrol are pretty common around here and i think price dominates a lot of buyers.

My area: Shell and Mobil products with a fair amount of Castrol in the mix ...
Only two quick lubes in small town - one Mobil and one CVX (Havoline) that was a Shell until recently ...
Farming region so lots of DIY sales ...

It is my preferred oil but I don't trash talk other brands. Fan boys think their oil is the best & all else sucks. I'm not like that. I've used every brand from Mobil to Pennzoil & everything in between. All are excellent oils & will do an engine well, I just prefer PP myself. I wouldn't consider myself a fan boy.

Anything that meets API SN, ILSAC GF-5 and/or GM DEXOS is perfect in my book.

Well said, a brand you trust that meets the specs you require. Job done.

Pennzoil & Mobil are the big ones here. Some mechanics & quick lubes advertise that they use Valvoline, along with the Hyundai dealer that I've taken my Elantra to sometimes for work. The volume dealer used to stock Valvoline for oil changes until the owner's son got sponsored by Pennzoil.
