What oil filter to use for high mileage engine?

I have a Chrysler 3.3l engine with over 150000 miles. The engine runs great and I am going to put a synthetic oil in it that claims to clean the engine (possibly Royal Purple, Red Line or PP). My question is what kind of oil filter to use for the first time I use the oil. Should I use a filter like the WIX which would be rather non-restrictive to the oil flow, but would catch a majority of any contaminants. Or should I use a filter like the Mobil 1 or Royal Purple that would probably catch and retain more of the contaminants? Any comments would be appreciated.

Use the Wix and save some money. Or use whatever you prefer.

In my Chryslers I always ran Wix, Purolator or Mopar.

I'd put a Purolator on a Chrysler.

If you want more thorough filtration, go with the Pure One.

Wix has good filtering media. So do its cousins the Napa Gold and Carquest Blue filters.

Mobil 1 and and Royal Purple filters are good but expensive.

Bosch filters also have the better media.

Purolator Pure One has very good filtering.

It is better to catch more particles. It really comes down to how much do you want to pay.

I hope you are going to run an extended OCI at least after a little cleaning of the engine.

Use a PureONE, in my opinion it's a great balance between price/quality/filtration.
