What mobil one product should I use

What Mobil 1 product should I use in my 2003 Toyota Tacoma 3.4 V6? The regular Mobil 1 5w30, the Truck/SUV 5w40? or the mobil race oil? I was running amsoil Full Synthetic 5w30 for the last two changes with analysis but want to try something different to look for the best wear numbers.

PS I drive in Ohio, occasionally haul a couple of motorcycles in the bed (1k+ lbs) and I would say my driving is 80%highway 20% city

I'd try the Racing oil. But that's bc I'd like to see a sample.

An other idea might be to use a quart of RedLine in with the same oil you used last time. I'm doing that with all oil changes I do now.

Mobil 1 5w30 or Mobil 1 10w30 would work well. The 0w40 or 5w40 would probably work well also......but not really necessary. The 0w30R is probably way overkill for anything but a full blown race engine.

Can't say for Toyota's cause they build such good engines as Mobil 5w30 or 10w30 should do fine...The Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w40 has a very tough film strength. I have no issue with the oil. I've loaded up some and do perfer the 40w...engine feels better to my liking.

Toyotas and 5w30 Mobil 1 seem to get along really well, so just stick with that, especially since it's one of the easiest oils to find.

so what is the benefit of Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w40? or the race oil for that matter? I know race oils traditionally did not have a high TBN and had tons of antiwear additives (moly and ZDDP) and were intended for short drains, as in after one race change it. So what are the differences between these oils and any advantage of each?

For the price the SUV is a very good oil as film strength is far better than the Mobil 5w or 10w30. I don't see no issue with the SUV 5w-40 and have no flow issue..MPG might decrease by 1, but is expected with a diesel oil. For my application I like the SUV.

You can do what I do and add a half quart +- of 15w50 to the sump to thicken the 5w30.

The Truck and SUV oil is Delvac 1. You get a good dose of zinc and phosphorus, a slug of magnesium but a bit less calcium, and a slightly different mix of base and blend stocks than the “standard” Mobil 1.

The racing formula gets increased twice the levels of zinc and phosphorus, increased moly, and increased calcium. Again the mix of base and blend stocks is different than the “standard”
Mobil 1.

The Mobil 1 racing formula is not rated for any API service category since its phosphorous level exceeds the current API limit. If you wind up with issues on the catalytic converter and emission controls using it, you may have a warranty problem.

The SUV/Delvac 1 is a good candidate for extended
drain intervals and should do a better job of soot
control and show better shear resistance than the
“standard” Mobil 1.

The Racing Formula is fully usable as a street motor oil. You get an extra margin of anti-wear for severe applications, better shear resistance, and slightly more power than the SUV due to the lower viscosity and additives.

I'd try the Racing Formula.
