Can I use this?

I know I've asked this before but now I'm due for my next oil change. I have 6 qts. of Mobil 1
10w30 at home but my truck says to use 5w30. The truck is a 04 toyota tacoma 3.4 liter over head cam V6.

If you are under warranty, you probably ought not use that 10W30 until you are out of warranty.
If you will see temperatures below zero degrees fahrenheit between today and your next oil change, you probably ought not use that 10W30 until things heat up.

The below link takes you to a chart listing cold flow characteristics required of various oil viscosities. You'll note that on paper a 10-W-something should crank acceptably down to -25 Celsius or -13 Fahrenheit. I prefer not running that close to the edge...

You'll be just fine using that 10w30. Put it in there and don't think twice about it!

Use it you will be fine. The manual states 5w30 or 10w30, but the 5w30 is the preffered viscosity and should be used. I use both and bump it with 500 ml of 15w50.

Or you can mix the Mobil 1 10w30 with Mobil 1 5w30. It really doesn't matter. Unless your dealer is a real turd, as long as you can prove you changed the oil in the time/mileage requirements with a reasonable oil you should be fine. Don't sweat it

. Besides, It's a Toyota, those engines last forever or until they sludge
