It has to be the Mercedes E63 AMG Estate (Wagon) for me

"The E63 AMG Estate is powered by a variant of the high performance hand built 6.2 Liter AMG V8 that delivers 525 HP, 11 HP more than the previous model, which is enough to send the estate from 0 to 60 MPH in 4.6 seconds, and reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 MPH, or 173 MPH with the optional AMG Driver’s Package,"

Olds 88 LSS came L67. However out of the 4 I have ever seen, one was NA.

Another sleeper L67 I just thought of. I was looking for a car at a car lot a few years ago. They had a 96 Bonneville SE. I looked at the vin expecting a K for L36. It was a 1 (SC L67). I walked around it looking at it for SSEi body cladding or something like that. Nothing, it was a SE. It had longitudinal muffler with two outlets, one on each side but they were turned down. No fancy oval tips or anything. I looked around on cars.com and other similar sites and could not find a SE supercharged.

another vote here for the supercharged 3800 (akaL67).

Can't handle or stop for [censored], but will go like stink in a straight line.

Some of the them.

The Grand Prix GTP when it came out in 1997 was right on par with the SHO of that generation, not only did it handle and stop as well as the SHO in stock trim it layed a hurting on it acceleration test. No offense to anyone I never really understood the obseision with the SHO.

That is a good article.

Now if you are talking larger S/C 3800 cars ok. The SSEi, the LSS, LeSabre etc etc.
However the Buick Regal GS and Grand Prix GTP share the same under pinnings and for 1997, which in cars years is OLD, it did very well. By todays standards, yeah it isn't great.

I've never even seen one but an HHR SS (same engine as the Cobalt SS) must surprise a few people. The GT Cruiser (SRT-4 motor) must do the same.
A Mark 8 showed up at one of my autocross races and it actually handled quite well with the air suspension. Lots of grunt too.

You can entertain yourself for a long time looking up turbo Caravans in the Intertubes.

I haven't looked lately but there used to be some good tech articles by people who had done it.

I had an Omni that ran low 13s high 12's. I always look for a beat up old Turbo Mopar car. I was on the Original SDML back in 94 ish 95 ish. No forum like this, just an email list to share modification tidibits.

The Cressida was the best car Toyota ever made...I know someone with a 92 with over 300K miles on it and it runs just fine and everything in it works...It rides and handles well also.

I love my wife's 2005 Legacy GT wagon with 5 speed manual. It is capable of 0-60 in 5.7secs. It takes other cars by surprise on occasion if we sprint off. If we want to drop $2500 in modifications (tune, exhaust) 290WHP is easy. The engine is a detuned but civilized STI motor.

It also has a decent interior and understated looks.

Wife/I feel it is worth every penny of $24k spent.
