Nope, the new 5.0 has more in common with the Modular V8 and Cyclone V6. Not related to the old Windsor's in any way, shape or form. I'm betting it's closer to 305 cid than 302.

Do you know if it is like the spray-bore 5.0L Modular from the late 90's?

No it's not, not even the Ford Racing 5.0L Cammers are using spray bore, they're just resleeved. The spray bore tech was shelved a long time ago. This new 5.0L has wider bore spacing than the Modular, it's not even using siamesed bores like the aluminum block Modulars do.

A big bore/stroker Coyote is going to be FUN.

Excellent, wasn't sure if it had anything/much in common with the Modular, which is why I asked.

I know Hurricane/BOSS will have some insane potential. It is essentially a reincarnation of the 427SOHC.

The Boss will have a lot of potential, but I'm not sure if the aftermarket is going to embrace it, with it being only in trucks (and mostly Super Duties).

It looks like the Coyote is going to be the performance face of Ford, but with it being essentially a stretched 4V Modular with DAMBs and TiVCT, I think that's a very good place to be. Now I just want to see what kind of bore spacing we're dealing with (and what size bore it can safely accommodate), deck height, and how much material in the heads there is to port. And I hope companies like Comp are already working on cams and springs for it.

If this thing can handle a 3.9"+ bore, and the factory head castings are as good as I think they are, the days of high velocity 420+ cfm street heads are upon us (after a serious port/valve job of course).

Yeah, the large B/S combo is what Hurricane brings to the table. Will be interesting to see how Coyote stacks up!

Except for the fact that it is WAY more powerful than any stock 302! It will kick an old Boss 302 in the weeds!

This motor is a true runner. I like high output N/A motors, can't wait to get my hands on one. Might want to wait a bit and see how they hold up under a big foot.
