What is the WORST Oil?

Any non detergent oil, which are surprisingly easy to find. For awhile three or so years ago, some of the SuperTech conventional VOA's were insanely bad. They've been pretty good for awhile now.

I guess besides those, I'd say any oil that costs more than 9 bucks a quart but doesn't even perform as well as M1 or PP. I'll let you guess what one that is.

Hahaha that corvette is awesome.

Coastal is the worst legit looking oil, they got busted putting 10w30 in 5w30 bottles.

Our friends in Bolivia and Kuwait could source some nasty local 40 weight, I'm sure.

Yep, plenty of that stuff for sale out there.
Why?
I suppose that if I, or anyone else, really needed a quart to top off, and only some no-name no API spec oil was available, and we were really in the middle of nowhere, anything resembling oil would be better than nothing.
When I say middle of nowhere, I'm thinking the Dakotas or Montana or Wyoming.
I'm not thinking five miles to the next Walmart.

There must be an awful lot of effort put in to producing a compromised parallel line next to a legit API licensed product. Yet the consumer still sees a $2+/qt price tag, for which they could get supertech. There must be hordes of middlemen getting rich off this quirky distribution.

Maybe this stuff is "pipe flush oil", the junk at the ends of a load of licensed product in the pipeline, too good for bar & chain lube. It's still amusing/frightening they get more money for it from us and don't just send it to, say, Mexico.

If I were in the middle of nowhere needing oil I'd get a dusty quart of citgo for $4.50 at a drugstore. (that's a brand I consistently see in the tiniest oddest places.)

how about being a little more specific, like asking what is the worst "5w30 SM/GF4 Synthetic"? I guess that would still be a hard one to answer, as that "worst" oil may work the best for some motors and be the worst for others.

A qt. in the trunk will totally eliminate the problem.
