My batteries get replaced at 8 years with the exception of the Optima red in my GTO which has been in for 14 or 15 years now. The only vehicles I've owned that batteries never went 8 years have been Honda Accords which on average lasted 4 years.

I had an AC Delco (back when they were made by Delphi) last 9 years (although from the production date of the car it was probably right around 10 years old).

6 years on factory AC Delco … but know I had several go 4-5 years … after that, all the TSC and Walmart battery’s. Lucky to get two years … last Ford battery went out 3 miles past B2B warranty … no love …

Our '09 Mazda 5 has the original battery. It's been in service 9-1/2 years. I think it's a Panasonic or a Yuasa.
I replaced the original battery in our '09 Kia Sedona in February, so coming up on 9 years of service at that point.
I guess the batteries were older than the vans, as the batteries would have been manufactured earlier.
In general I hope for three winters out of conventional replacements. Our '97 MPV has 7-1/2 years on its latest replacement battery, an Optima Redtop.

Almost always, it depends on heat cycles and whether or not your alternator is seeing a solid ground reference so it will not overcharge ... I always add my own ground cable between the battery neg post and the alternator bracket.
I get over 7 years routinely and have gone up to 10 when I chickened out and bought a replacement cause I was going off road and did not want to get stranded. The Big Bronco has an AOD, so can't push start it ...

2008 Jeep Patriot and I'm still on the original battery. I chalk it up to the fact that everything is manual and I also have complete control over headlights. They don't come on unless I want them on.
I just now replaced the battery in my 2008 4Runner. The OEM Panasonic battery was still starting strong but the "eye" was showing red. I figured I got my money worth and it was time to replace it before the wife gets stranded somewhere this winter.
I bought an Interstate 27F from Costco. Hope it lasts half as long (5 years) as the OEM battery.

A Sears Diehard Gold lasted over 13 years in my van. I got close to 10 years out of the OE battery in my Liberty.
The best battery I owned lasted 2 years past the expected life of the battery and it wasn't a maintenance free battery. It was an Everstart cheapie (36 month) purchased in 2001 for a Ford Escort wagon.
Ever since the maintenance free batteries now seem to be standard 3 years is all you get irregardless of the expected life of the battery.

Funny that I just posted about my Ram's battery still kicking after seven years just two weeks ago and today I had to replace my wife's battery. Her Chrysler is a 2015, bought new in December of 2014, and the battery pooped out today. So it lasted 3 years and 10 months.
I had a VW Jetta TDI built in Nov 2008. I sold it back to VW with the original battery in December 2016. I had an Olds Aurora with the battery under the rear seat. The original lasted about 10 years.
I have a 2013 BMW X5 on its original battery. It has an elaborate charge monitoring system that tracks all the current in and out of the battery, which is AGM. I hear these routinely last up to 10 years. Also mounted in the rear, away from the engine.bay.
My 2015 Corvette is now 4 years old, and the original battery is going strong.

Just replaced the battery in my 2008 Dodge Avenger for winter because its getting weak. Bought the car in 2012 with 100K. i was surprised it still had the original battery. 10 Years i think it did its job, and it wasnt even a AGM bettery just a lead acid. I dont think ive ever had a battery last this long.
Just replaced my Optima Red Top in my pickup. 11 years, and would probably have lasted a lot more if I hadn't let the truck sit unused so much the battery drained to near zero charge.
