Your squirrel problem looks a lot worse than my rat problem as far as house damage.

Most squirrels live in nests in trees. Why does this squirrel want to get into your house?

I have no idea why it wants to live inside the house. There is a tree right next to the house it could live in and across the street out back is pasture land with trees and there are trees all around the neighborhood.

He knows a nest in a house is more comfortable than a nest in a tree.

If you don't want lethal methods, get a live trap. Bait it with a bowl of corn or something.

Release it at the in laws when caught.

I already am using a live trap and so far no luck.

I have a Benjamin Prowler 0.177 … fast and accurate … moderate noise …

No shooting within city limits. I've re-baited the trap and now have both doors open and still nothing. Maybe he moved out.

You could get the same $25 camera I got and see his patterns. Is it going there for night time? Is there one or a bunch. At this point in the year it should not be bringing back food to store for winter.

That actually is a good idea. I do have a game camera I could put up there to see what is going on. I will do that.

Well, I finally caught the Squirrel in the live trap. I put the trap in the entrance to the big hole on the back porch and opened both doors with the food in the middle of the trap on the trip plate. Hopefully that was the only one.

Many people try to get rid by themselves of some animals like the squirrels or the raccoons. I would recommend you to ask the specialists to do that for you.

I purchased a small game license to make sure I was 100% legal and I started dispatching with a .177 RWS air rifle. My disdain for the critters gave me great fun in eliminating the population of individuals that were causing my issues.

I recently discovered that once again, a squirrel chewed through the side of the house to get inside. I have two live traps up in the attic but nothing yet.
